Tell me who will win the BCS (college football national championship)?

OU wins it all! Then plays Anaheim Angels due to a real scheduling snafu. Big XII scheduling sucks.

But really OU / Notre Dame in BCS bowl (real name, huh?) with OU winning

Go OU!

Wow, a resurrected thread OF MINE! It’s like when your puppy takes it’s first crap, or something.

I like Miami still, if the BCS computers do not chew them up and spit them out. [sub]Oh, and we lost to Ole Miss. Go Rebs’! Sigh.[/sub]

The freaky thing about this season is that it could enter bowl season with as many as SIX TEAMS undefeated and in the top ten. (Georgia, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Ohio State, North Carolina State, and Miami or Virginia Tech.) Unheard of!

And what bugs me about the system (as a Georgia fan) is that Notre Dame magically leapt past Georgia this week on the strength of a victory over a 5-2 team which had lost to Louisville. Meanwhile. Georgia also beat a 5-2 team, one which had defeated Louisville. Hmmm.

Don’t forget about Bowling Green. Granted, they are playing a lesser caliber of opponent, but I am always thrilled when scenarios play out that make the BCS look worse. And, somehow, a new thing happens each year that builds upon their previous screw-ups. This year, I fully expect a team like Georgia to go undefeated, win the SEC, and still not make the title game. Maybe when a bigger school from one of the biggest football conferences gets screwed reform will have more of a fighting chance when the contract runs out.

I’m all for a three week play off schedule. Let the BCS determine the seeds. So let’s see… you’d have to finish in the top eight, hmm…

There are more than eight conferences, aren’t there?

That’s part of the problem with BCS vs play offs. But, something has to change.

Not Notre Dame now! Boston College 14, Losing Irish 7

YEA!!!

This slam at the Irish is brought you by Catholics Who Really Resented Being Told by Their Parish Priest Growing Up That We Had to Root for Notre Dame.

Yes!! Thank you BobT! Finally, I’ve found someone who despises Notre Dame for the same reasons I do!

whew!

spoke, it’s all academic now for us dawgs. Now I’m worried about the SEC East. :frowning:

I think The Ohio State University is the best in the nation. They will clearly win the championship. [sub] Hehe I am only saying this in the hope that the Buckass fans get their hope up, so their pathetic spirt will be crushed when we beat them. Go Blue![/sub]

Virginia Tech lost, too, didn’t they? Too bad. I wanted at least 6 undefeated teams at the end of the season to screw with BCS so it’ll get changed. NC State lost. Who’s left? Bowling Green?

[hijack] OU seems to messing with people’s Heisman dreams.[/hijack]

3 ways I want this to play out:

  1. I either want to end up with 3 undefeated teams (Miami, OU, OSU) so one of them gets screwed over making the BCS look far stupider than last year.

  2. Oklahoma goes through undefeated. VA Tech beats Miami. Michigan beats OSU. OU plays Texas, who didn’t even win their conference.

  3. All undefeated teams lose once. That leaves us with a multitude of one loss teams with no discernible differences other than when they lost.

Basically, I want the scenarios to play out in such a way that further pushes the BCS system to a playoff system

Current BCS:

1 - OU
2 - Ohio St
3 - Miami, Fl

getting into a compremising position, BCS. Hope something really wierd happens,

I find it astonishing that Miami is not ranked # 1. They are the defending national champions and they haven’t lost a game in nearly 2 years. I always thought the rule was, until you got lost, you stayed at the top, but I guess I’m naive:rolleyes:    .

That being said, I think Miami will repeat as national champs.
