Since Boyo Jim has stopped by in this thread, I should note that another benefit of joining this board is that you get to discuss all sorts of topics with people noteworthy enough to be listed in Wikipedia. The link in his post #73 shows why.
As yet another benefit, what other community on the Internet offers opportunities to go to a meet-up party and discuss juggling with a mathematician and an exotic dancer?

I have been reading this board for a bit prior to deciding to join. I’ve read the attitude that featherlou has expressed before. It made me laugh just as much then as it has now. Some people might be hamming it up with a little tongue-in-cheek, but for some they believe it to be 100% true.
If you haven’t noticed it before, perhaps you aren’t as observant as you fancy yourself to be.
Most people (so far) seem quick witted and fun, but there are always going to be those who take themselves (and this place) a little too seriously. Usually that’s a sign that you’re clenching your keyboard a little too hard and need some fresh air and perspective. YMMV.
