There’s dry rot at my aunt’s house. Piccies. An initial inspection has shown that it’s along much of the front of the first floor (that’s the floor above the street-level floor) at floor level, and has spread downwards to one room downstairs. A full inspection is being carried out in a month.
So please tell me of your experiences and give me your advice.
What the heck is that substance in the joist space? Is that all mold?
The whitish stuff is the dry rot
You cut out the area to somewhere beyond the dry rot and replace it.
There are big Victorian beams to replace. We’re having it looked at professionally, of course.
There was a shelf mushroom growing in the doorway?!!
That was the fruiting body of dry rot.
