43… yeah that adds up right. Can any of you beat that?
Well except for the petri dish of E. Coli.

Midnight, our beautiful big black kitty, and Phoebe, our 16-year old 7 pound scrawny lovable tabby girl.

Two shelter cats here.

Salem, the female, the blackest black cat I’ve ever seen. She is darker than coal black, darker than the ace of spades, darker than the dead of night. When she lays in the sunbeams, she absolutely shimmers. The girls named her after the black cat on “Sabrina, The Teen-Age Witch.”
She likes to get on the shower after someone uses it, and also likes to sit on my lap while I am at the computer and swat at the cursor and “help” me type.

Heifer, the male cat, thinks he’s a dog. Black and white spotted like a cow. He steals Beanie Babies from the kids and drags them into the kitchen and leaves them by the food bowls. He fetches, comes on command, and responds to a whistle. Also rolls over for belly rubs. He also does the doggy-arm-nudge thing, meaning “Pet Me!!”

My kitties:

Moody (short for Masmoudi) is the smart one - a Siamese/Calico/Tabby mix girl. Her markings on her face make her look confused, even though she is usually the one to learn something. She is also the more loving kitty - she often comes up and asks to be petted. When I’m taking a bath, she will sit on the ledge behind me. The other night, I was leaning forward in my bath and felt something behind me. She had been batting at the bubbles! She also likes to be up high.

Shilla (short for Karshilamar) is the pretty one - a pure-black boy (well, except for a few white hairs that I keep telling him I’m going to paint black) He likes to play hide in plain site - helped no doubt by my dark green carpet and untidy habits. I’ve had a couple of times where a black sweater looked up at me! He wants affection on his own terms - he doesn’t want to be picked up, or even petted sometimes, but if I’m sitting down, he might just get in my lap for serious snuggles. Just like a little boy!

Nobody’s posting pictures!

Here are my three little “monkeys:”

Jack, Buster and Piper, in order from left to right (Piper’s my calico).

They are three-fifths of a litter, and I’m convinced you can see the family resemblance in their faces, but no one else is.

InsanityIncarnate, if you really have all those animals at/in your home, then your username is very appropriate.

Max the Demon Kitty.
13 pounds of jet-black attitude. Black eyes, black gums, black tounge, black claws. BIG black claws. Will demand his due, and if not getting it, will casually slash you bloody. Should you have the temaerity to pet him un-invited, he rolls to his back and assumes a fair imitation of a razor-tentacled octopus, and he doesn’t let go easy.
You can’t have him.

Tuxedo the MonkeyCat.
He’s also black, but with white ascot, gloves, and spats. Makes amazing monkey noises when he really wants something badly. Climbs like monkey, too.
Another keeper.

Shadow Kittyface.
Tuxedo’s sister. She’s having a bad-hair life. The only long-hair in the house, her fur looks like it’s in desperate need of brushing, even just after being brushed. Flat, non-reflective black, and when she lies down on any dark surface, she just vanishes. Also known as Prickly-Paws, as she’ll walk on you with claws partly extended. Loves attention, but drools on you when being petted.
You’ll take her from me over the cooling ashes of the entire county.

Blanche - a spoiled Jack Russel Terrier who hates Dad, and must be less than 6 inches from Mom at all times. She’s lived in 8 different homes…now I see why.

Gustav “Gus” Klimt - a 3 year old black half siamese, half alley cat who has an annoying habit of practicing his “being run over by a car” voice at precisely 11:30 pm.

Pablo “Pecco” Picasso - a 7 year old orange tabby who’s anorexia seems to be in remission.

The Mafia - about 23 fish, from Angelfathers to Danio Henchmen to “BottomFeeders”…organized crime all enclosed in a 55 gallon tank.

This thread is great!

I’ve raised a lot of animals in my day. These are some of my dearest ones…from the past and present:
Muffin, my oldest pet, a Tabby with a earthy-deserty tone.
Roxy, A black toy poodle. Very humble and loyal.

Candy, A big, chow-mixed mutt. A chronically happy, playful dog. Orange fur, big, and with a pink tongue spotted purple. She thinks I’m one of her pups.

El Gato Loco, The energetic runt of the feline litter he was born from. After I saved him from the jaws of a stray dog, only to have the vet discover that he was unhurt, my friend and I have taken to calling him ‘Rubber Cat’.
Bitch, a black, lop-eared rabbit. She hated everyone. She couldn’t be touched. She would only bite, scratch, growl, and claw. And there have been numerous injuries reinforcing that fact. But I took care of her from the day she came into my life until the day she died. In that way, she taught me many lessons of responsibility, and humility.

Rufus and Dark Nation, an orange, fluffy hamster, and his black counterpart. It was hard taking care of small animals, since all my other ones have been larger.

Goliath Leopard Gecko. He’s tame, likes being petted, eats crickets and baby mices, and can lick his own eyeball. What more could a guy ask for?

(Pink) Floyd, Axel (Rose), and Ozzy (Osbourne), Cat, Pig, and Cat, respectively. Floyd’s got extremely long hair, and is neurotic. Ozzy is spastic, playful, and hates being alone. Axel used to be a lot happier, but has been in and out of depression ever since his favorite cat, Dusty, was killed by a car. (It was so sweet to see them cuddling with each other!)

I could list more. But I don’t want to ramble on for -too- long. I’ve also taken care of rats, snakes, turtles, and birds.

Her name is Cali, and she’s my best friend.

Three gold fish, one snail and one algae eater. We gave up naming them because they always die when they have a name.

A friend’s dog who stays with us quite often. A Jack Russell named Ruby. She’s a doll.
