Mr kiffa and our three kiffettes are leaving tonight on early vacation in the US [Detroit and LA]. Kinshasa is not all that politically stable and school is out. My question: is it possible to get a two month internet connection, preferably nationwide, at low cost and without promising to pay for a full year? I want to keep our known email addresses.
Any thoughts recommendations would be appreciated.
Oh sure. Nearly every ISP here will let you cancel (though some, like AOL, make you go through a bit of a song-and-dance to do it), and most offer either a 30- or 45-day free trial period. About the only ones that make you commit to a year are the broadband services that include a free modem.
As for accessing your existing email, if they are ISP-supplied addresses, you can probably read mail on them, but you may not be able to send mail unless you are connected through the ISP. If they’re web-based emails, like Yahoo! or HotMail, you shoudl have no difficulty accessing them fully.
