My feelings exactly. I saw a commercial for this not reality based farce, while watching my Niners game yesterday. My first thought was “What kind of imbecile thought this up?” followed shortly by “If Jerry Springer’s any indication there’ll be no shortage of couples”. 
Well, you have couples because it’s no fun if single people decide to have sex with the other people on the island. The whole point is to see if the couples will overcome temptation, and see them suffer if and when they fail. I’ll probably try to catch a few episodes, juat because it’s so sleazy, degrading, and devoid of any higher purpose whatsoever…kind of like that story in the Decamaron.

My girlfriend asked me about this. And its lame, bottom of the barrel tactics.
Let’s try and challenge a person by throwing these single people at these couples. I am not surprised to see if they get some kind of monetary if they get the girl or guy to cheat. And thats lame.
My deal is that temptation is fine and all, but when you get someone constantly hasseling you to give it up, it becomes really annoying and very mean by the person trying it. I speak from experience since both my girlfriend and I have had a few people who cant get a clue that we were happy and did not want them to interfere. Now imagine 20 single people doing that.
Its just plain mean to the couples. Sure, you can say oh well it solidifys the relationship but damn, its got to put a strain on both the short term and long term no matter what they say.
Personally, I can’t wait. This is about the sleaziest thing I’ve ever seen, and I thrive on sleaze… It’s so hard for me to find things that I genuinely LIKE that I have to make do with things that I can laugh/yell at.
Maybe I’m wrong, but isn’t there already a show something like this in syndication. My knowledge of the details are fuzzy, but I thought there was this show where both individuals in a couple go out on a date with someone else, then afterwards have to decide if they’re staying with each other, or dating the new person.
So what exactly is the drama here? Maybe FOX could add one person of each sex with an infectious disease on the island. No one would know who it is, maybe that would be more ‘life-like’. I would probably watch the show then just to get some laughs.
(disclaimer: Infectious diseases are not a laughing matter. Even though anyone who would subject themselves to this tv show would most definately deserve one.)

I think it’s a sick and sadistic way to ruin people’s relationships. However, the peopple who volunteer for a show like that are stupid and therefore deserve everything they get.
