Terminator 3 - "Talk to the hand" - What does that mean?

Well, not in the non-porn version, anyway.

My problem with it was they made it way way too much of a campy, “nudge, nudge, wink, wink we all know this isn’t real but lets just play along” nod to the audience, comedy. It simply didn’t feel right, not like the first two movies at all.

I don’t mind action movies having laughs in them, in fact its preferable, but it has to be done within the tone of the film. Which is something which I think the film-makers didn’t even try to achieve.

Unfortunately, many of the laughs were at the expense of the Terminator.

I mean, come on! Arnie in big disco sunglasses? “Talk to the hand”? Even good Terminator is supposed to scare the shit out of you, not make you wince with embarassment. Then that final Arnie-blows-a-gasket-and-beats-up-a-car thing. Gimme a break. Ridiculous. Terminators don’t have tantrums. They kick ass. The writers screwed the pooch so hard with character development in this flick it was just a travesty.

T-III never happened. I’ll just keep telling myself that.

Augggh! Google Answers isn’t the IMDb messageboard. You’ve linked to the answer I mentioned in my first post. :smack:
Sorry if I sound pissy. It just grieves me that nobody seems to know what Google Answers is. :frowning:

Well this has now eveolved into a review of Terminator 3 which is fine with me. I got my question answered - and thank you.

Anyway, what I didn’t like about the movie were the 3 major characters (besides Ahhhhhhhhh-nold of course).

Nick Stahl … John Connor
Claire Danes … Kate Brewster
Kristanna Loken … T-X

Was it the writing, the acting, both? Whatever the case, this really came up kind of lackluster didn’t it?
