Where did you do this? Because all I saw was you saying not to start new threads about it and not that it was completely off-topic everywhere.

You’re right: my instruction was not to start any new threads. Hijacking threads and being a jerk is against the rules regardless, and anybody who was really interested in a reasonable discussion of the topic would have understood that that the hijacking/threadshitting method wasn’t a good idea. By the way, I actually posted in three different threads about this, not just one. I did that specifically because I realized people might not have seen the original post:

I realize there are a lot of people with questions about this, but none of them are going to be answered by people screaming at each other and calling names. I’m closing this thread. Perhaps the mods will start a new one to explain some of these issues in a calm and reasonable manner.

I asked people to hold off on new threads about this issue while the mods discuss how we’re handling it.

When I closed the other thread and said “the mods are going to discuss this and get back to you,” I meant it. That wasn’t a hint to open a new thread to fight the same fights again. Don’t open any more threads about this.
