Terrible Twin Names

Not twins, but a brother and sister named Christopher and Christine. Worse- they both went by Chris.

Twins -
Libby and Lorry (correct spelling)
Brad and Bryan
Jeff and Jenny (do their parents even KNOW what an imagination is?)

Twin great-aunts:

Ilene and Wandalene (everyone calls her “Wandy,” though). They used to always buy me the same birthday card, even though one lived in IN and the other lived in FL.

Duh, how could I forget that both of my paternal grandparents were twins. My grandfather and his brother were named Donald and Harold. That’s pretty bad, but my grandmother and her sister were Mary and Marie! It’s the same darn name, just in different languages. Sheesh, no wonder my father came up with such cruddy names for us.

Tom and Jerry - The parents took the names suggested by older twin children Bill and Pat while they were (guess what) watching cartoons. Honest!

I went to Jr Hi with Ronnie and Donnie.

Virtually yours,

DrMatrix

I know two sets of twins at the moment. The first are, sensibly, Mary and Judy. The other two are Jean Marie and Joan Marie.

Catrandom

My great-grandfather and his sister were Fines and Ines.

“Fester, fester, fester…rot, rot, rot.”

Shania and Shanika. In both cases, the “i” is pronounced a la European (i.e. “eee”), even though the family is whte trash.

In fact, there are multiple Shanias around town now.

I have a pair of uncles who are twins, Kim and Kevin.

Two years ago, Kim and his wife had triplets, two girls and a boy, Taylor, Dayton, and Brittan (Dayton is the boy). Trendy names, yes. But the the names are different enough so that each kid will feel like an individual. The names work well with their middle & last names, and don’t leave a whole lot of room for teasing. They worked hard at coming up with these names, and they did a good job, I think. The kids are really freaking cute.

In the family history: Jay and Fay - twin boys. I’m guessin’ Fay got beat up a lot.

Heard but not seen: twin girls Topeka and Tomeka. In aseymayoland, they’ve held the title in the Bad Names (twins division)category for some time.

missdavis - at least Arnold and Ronald are anagrams. That’s a little improvement over rhyming names.

Chris CTP - “Fines and Ines” is weirdly cool. They sound like a vaudeville team. But how are they pronounced? feye-NEZ and eye-NEZ? FINE-us and INE-us?

My elderly aunt and uncle twins are Alvin and Alvinelle.

Maybe we should have some pity on these people though – they’re going home from the hospital with TWO babies! No wonder there’s a slipped cog in the noggins.

Hmm, my secretary has twins named Michael and Julie.

I went to school with Michelle Lynn and Lynn Michelle . . .

And there’s a set of twins in Utah somewhere (related to my sister’s ex-husband) named Michelle and ::ahem:: Melinda, after yours truly!

Not nearly as much as you’d have to hate them to name them Richard if your last name was Head. I kid you not. And if you don’t believe me, look up the number in St. Louis, MO. And He’s a neurologist, no less!! A head doctor named Dr. Head is funny. A defenseless child who had to grow up with the name Dick Head, is not!

(And FWIW, I also know a Bill Billings, an Alyson Allison, and a William Williams).

As for twin names, my dad wouldn’t let me play with Bobbie and Billie, both girls, because he didn’t believe me when I said they weren’t boys. The only other ones I can think of that I know were Lynn and Lori (not bad) and Carla and Cathy (also not bad).

“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.” - Anne Frank

Holy smokes - it’s worse than I thought! I went to get evidence of Dick Head for all the skeptics out there, and there are actually THREE moron parents in St. Louis who did this to their children!

I hope [this link](http://in-128.infospace.com/_1_223833089__info/kevdb-g2?KDB=res-us&OTMPL=%2Fres%2Fr1.html&QTAPPEND=QN%2CQF&QFM=N&QK=10&QN=Head&QF=Richard&QC=St.+Louis&QS=MO&QD=1&QConduct=Loo k+It+Up) works. If not, just go to any white pages search engine and you’ll find the results.

And BTW, I know that at least one of these isn’t a fake phone book listing (which I’ve heard people do as jokes) because the one listed in Chesterfield used to be my doctor. That’s how I knew of the name.

My twin nieces are Hannah Marie and Hailey Lorraine. If she has another girl, my sister wants to name it Hope. (insert eyeroll here).
<bI> suggested Heathen and Hellion, which is appropriate if you know the two, but she didn’t appreciate it much.

If you’re not part of the solution you’re just scumming up the bottom of the beaker.

I knew a pair of twins named Jackie and Jenny. Both blond and cute when they were little, but I saw them a couple years ago and they were smoking. Not so cute, really.

“Anger is what makes America great.”

My Aunt named my cousins Rodney and Curtis. Everybody called them Curt and Rod (curtain rod)… She swears that it never had occurred to her that they would be teased.

If I have twins, I’ll name one Juan, and the other Amaul. THen I can take Juan around with me to show off to people and say “If you’ve seen Juan, you’ve seen Amaul.”

On the Simpsons, there are Sherri and Teri.

I have three cousins who are sisters (neither twins nor triplets) and are named: Joan, Jean, and June. I suppose that if they kept churning out girls ‘Jan,’ ‘Jane,’ ‘Jen,’ and ‘Jean’ would’ve been used. (Yeah, yeah, I know: brother ‘John.’)

Peace.

I know about the Richard Head problem. I work in a hospital and we had a patient by that name (of course, he went by Dick!). I had the worst time trying to explain to one very religious nurse why I absolutely refused to announce on the p.a. system “Dick Head, please return to your room.”

As if that weren’t bad enough, we used to have a doctor here whose name is Richard Beaver. (He went by Dick, too.)

Not that we can blame his parents for this one but there is a gynecologist in town named Dr. Box.

Maybe it’s the water around here…

Do not taunt Happy Fun Ball.

Never knew any twins that I can remember, but I like these:

Henry and David
Brad and Janet
Edward (instead of Edgar) and Allen

Hey, Brad and Janet kind of go with Degen, don’t they?
