Terrible Twin Names

My great uncle’s spinster sisters were named “Fleeny” and “Flonny.” Yeah, yeah, no wonder they were spinsters.

Growing up, there were the twins “Donnie” & “Lonny” and “Shirelle” & “Shanelle.”

I knew alot of twins in HS, and most all I can remember now had alliterative names, Rebecca and Rachel, Matt and Mike…but nothing too wild.

A serious GF of mine was Nikki and had a twin named Becky, you can guess the full versions, quite tasteful on the parents part.

The end all was a pair of of twins in college named Danny and Dusty, last name? You guessed it, Rhodes. Dusty Rhodes. Cruel, but not as cruel as a kid in the same fraternity. His name: Dirty Riles, no shit. All these are official given names right off the university enrollments.

A friend of mine who went to UMASS at Amherst swears that when he was there, the phonebook listed a Richard Hertz from Holden. No word if HE went by the name Dick!

The worst name I ever saw was Rexella. She’s either the wife or sister or tv evangelist Jack Van Impe.Yes,her hairs poofy, but she was obviously named after her father. Also Willow.Rexella and Willow.
Willow is a pretty name, but when a teenage guy realizes (pussywillow),wouldn’t want to be her!

I know twins named “Chip” and “Dale”. I thought they were putting me on, but it’s true! I know two sisters (not twins) named “Laverne” and “Shirley” - predating the show.

I bet teachers just love it! I have a friend who’s official name is Mickey, but one teacher INSISTED this was a nickname, and his name simply HAD to be “Michael”. Well, the teachers think they know best, don’t they?

The scary thing is that 90% of the people think they’re above average! - unknown

I knew a Preston Preston in jr high…

Twins… I knew a Stacie/Tracy pair in elementary school… I always wondered why parents did that shit…

My Brother in Law has two aunts who are not twins but I cannot (and neither can hubby) tell them apart.
Their names are Elaine and Lorraine.

They are very nice ladies and for some reason, scare the crap out of us, like demonic dolls.

My brother and I are John and Joan. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve been called John in my life. Even when announcing the birth of our son in the crummy little local paper, I typed out the entire announcement with the photograph and the newspaper goofed it up saying that “Hubby and John announced …”

Our neighbors teased us about being a same sex couple.

Omniscient:

Weird. I was in first grade with a Rachel (who had a twin named Rebecca in another class) when I lived in Illinois. Were they a few years older than you, by any chance?

The worst names I’ve heard of being given to twins has to be Quantis DeTroy and Quintis Detray. Not only are the names painfully similar, the names in general are just horrible.

I once knew a kid name Peter Peterson.

I thank God every day that my Mom did not give my twin brother and me rhyming names. In fact, all the twins I know do not have rhyming names. I know a David and Larry and a Kristi and Kelli (close, but not not quite).

At work we have Marco and Mario. Nice guys, but no way can I tell them apart.
I had a friend in Jr High, he was the middle of 3 brothers: Jason, Carson, and Tyson.

“That was a hell of a thing.”

I know this posting is old, but I couldn’t resist. Went to school with a couple twins. Bill and Jim - dull, but not alike. The most icky sweet names were Amy and Allison Allen. Nice girls, but their parents were obviously not so clever.
The worst names: Justin and Jenna.
A boy and girl. The worst part is the last name. Poor her. What mother (or father) would agree to name their child Jenna Tillery?

How about Chynna and Crystal?

Or Aaron and Erin?

I have twin cousins named Jacob and Joshua. One of my good friends is named James and his twin is John.

My ex taught elementary school music and he had four students all named Juan who all had the same mother (there were a set of twins in there). All of them had different fathers (except for the twins). All of the Juan’s went by Juan, too. Incidently, the Juan twins were identical and the mother was pretty much rock dumb (obviously).
