"Terry Crews Saves Christmas"

For any Terry Crews or Christmas fans out there Terry has a holiday special where he goes and does a kind of home makeover, Christmas style, for families.

The first episode airs tomorrow night at 7/8PM and runs through Friday on The CW. I’ve already got my DVR set. I love me some Terry Crews.

I gotta say, Terry Crews’s hat and sweatshirt were awesomely bad Christmasny-ness? (Is that a word? Or did I just invent new awsomeny-ness?) (Heckin A. Is that even a word?)

I want a Terry Crews face making weird Terry Crews faces in a wreath on the bottom of my next Christmas card.

Terry Crews is hilarious in everything. His work in “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” is delightful; he always carries this air of barely contained desperation.

If he hadn’t made in in football he would have been an actor ten years earlier than he was; he was born to do it.

I totally agree.

First thing I ever noticed him in was Idiocracy as President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho. That was a great character and he made it great. I have this “Camacho 2016” t-shirt and yes I wore it a lot this election cycle.

I watched him in Everybody Hates Chris as Chris Rocks dad and he was great in that role and he’s great in Brooklyn Nine Nine.

And everything I’ve seen him in as appearing as himself, like a talk show, he just comes off as a positive fun happy guy and it always leaves me feeling better about the world knowing there are people like that out in the world.

Now I didn’t get to finish yesterdays episode because a minor emergency came up but I finished watching it this evening.

The show was about what I expected it to be. Some Christmas cheesiness but still fun to watch. I’m a sucker for make over shows whether it be house, people or even cars with Counting Cars. And I’m not a car guy. It’s just nice to see something go from crappy to pretty cool.

Also I’m not really a fan of the mostly white decorations with some gold accents that Vanessa went with. I prefer color color everywhere.

And bonus for Terry flexing his pecs. I think that’s his signature move. Just bouncy bouncy bounce.

OK, I’ve just started watching tonights episode and I got to the part where Terry does his Christmas poem fashioned after “A Visit from St. Nicholas” by Clement Clarke Moore. You know the:

"'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse; "

poem. It was pretty funny.

I totally forgot to post a link to the “poem”. Here it is, it’s about a minute long.

Not to sound too hipster, but I was a fan of his before it was cool. Even if he’s in a shitty movie (and he’s been in a few), he makes them so much more watchable.

A couple weeks ago I watched his Old Spice commercials on repeat. The other guy is fine, but I prefer the Terry Crews on bath salts ones.

I first noticed him in White Chicks, and have been a fan ever since. I put him in the category or “National Treasure”.

Terry Crews voiced Officer Earl in Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2, a role voiced by Mr. T in the first film, and I didn’t notice until the closing credits that it wasn’t Mr. T doing it again.

Seriously, who doesn’t love Terry Crews?

Same here.

I enjoyed the second episode more than the first one. I liked Vanessas choice of going more colorful with the serrapes and pillows and do-hickeys on the wall.

When Terry was pretending to have his feelings hurt when they were making the piñatas was adorable. And also when he was making the yarn things with the kids.

I started watching the first episode but it didn’t really grab me. I am a total Terry Crews mark and I dug his antics but I got pulled out when they did a pop up saying that most Christmas specials are taped late October/early November because Terry made a comment about pumpkins in the yard. He then went and talked to the family and they were a upper middle class Chicago couple who just didn’t have the time to decorate or make soul food like their family expected. It kind of killed it for me to be pulled out of the narrative by how early it was and yet the couple had no time.

It’s funny that in the second episode as Terry and crew are driving to the house they come across some trick or treaters and he yells out the window, “Terry Christmas!” and a kid yells back, “It’s Halloween!”

I always knew he would save Christmas.

He should be the next US president. Start the campaign now!
