I’m not sure about this test. I AM low maintenance, but this is ridiculous!!! I did enjoy both of those movies however.
You seem to care about how you present yourself, but probably not enough to let it dictate what you do, where you go, and with whom. You most likely take pride in your appearance, but it’s not of utmost importance to you. You appear to have achieved a very healthy balance between narcissism and neglect.
Material Upkeep: 17 out of 100
You might be self-sufficient and practical, or slightly unkempt. You probably view top-of-the-line products as unnecessary and excessive, and don’t care to indulge yourself with more than you need. You most likely do not place a strong emphasis on the prestige of your products or possessions. You abide by the less is more philosophy.
Emotional Upkeep: 8 out of 100
You are either very secure in your relationships, or you might just have very low standards. It is admirable to refrain from demanding verbal or action-based reassurance, however, only if you are doing so for the right reasons. If you do not feel as if you deserve respect and attention, perhaps you have too low a regard for yourself. But, if you are truly satisfied with your relationship without any need for expectations, then congratulations, your low maintenance attitude probably makes both you and your partner very happy!
“…being normal is not necessarily a virtue. It rather denotes a lack of courage.”
Oh, yeah…they told me to watch Romy and Michelle for laughs (which I do) and listen to the Boogie Nights soundtrack to “diva myself up”. Will The Full Monty soundtrack do, ya think?
“…being normal is not necessarily a virtue. It rather denotes a lack of courage.”
For future reference, that test has to be severely flawed… as the husband of Chris (see above posts) I know for a FACT she is higher to maintain than what that “test” leads you to believe.
Personal Upkeep - 33 out of 100?
What? While at home she may not care to much how she looks but heaven forbid she walks out the door without makeup, not to mention about an hours worth of mixing clothes to get a proper “appearance”. I would say more like a 55 out of 100.
Material Upkeep - 17 out of 100?
Wah ha ha ha!! <wheeze> Suffice it to say it should be more like 84 out of 100.
Emotional Upkeep - 8 out of 100?
Say what? All that nagging scores an eight? To quote Al Borland from Tool Time - “I don’t think so Chris” Score it a 41 out of 100.
“Wow! Spider-Man! Are you really friends with the X-men?” "Not since Cyclops tried to use my viewmaster."
(Marvel Team Up #1)
With your score, you will love watching Romy and Michele flip back and forth between trying to find the right outfit to wear, to focusing on what’s really important. You and your friends will roll with laughter everytime you watch it.Sorry to tell you this, but I saw this movie and I hated it!
With such a low score on the high maintenance scale, you could stand to diva up a bit! The soundtrack from Boogie Nights is sure to bring out the high maintenance side of everyone at your next party! ** Okay, I liked this movie, but I haven’t bought a movie soundtrack since Grease.**
Personal upkeep: 17 out of 100.
Material upkeep: 0 out of 100.
Emotional upkeep: 42 out of 100.
I think my husband may disagree with the material upkeep score, but the other two sound right to me.
17 (don’t spend much time grooming, either you’re blessed or messy)
0! (You might be self-sufficient and practical, or slightly unkempt)
8 (You are either very secure in your relationships, or you might just have very low standards)
So, either I’m God’s gift to women, or I’m a dirty, ugly, boorish slob.
I sold my soul to Satan for a dollar. I got it in the mail.

So, are we Dopers a bunch of slobs or does everyone score low?
Who did not get a recommendation to watch Romy and Michelle and listen to Boogie Nights?
FTR, my scores were: personal, 17; material, 33; emotional, 50…and I got those recommendations.
“I don’t just want you to feel envy. I want you to suffer, I want you to bleed, I want you to die a little bit each day. And I want you to thank me for it.” – What “Let’s just be friends” really means
An infinite number of rednecks in an infinite number of pickup trucks shooting an infinite number of shotguns at an infinite number of road signs will eventually produce all the world’s great works of literature in Braille.
Personal Upkeep: 67 out of 100
Material Upkeep: 50 out of 100
Emotional Upkeep: 50 out of 100
Heh, guess my dad’s nickname “Princess” does ring true…

Personal Upkeep - 67/100
Material Upkeep - 25/100
Emotional Upkeep - 58/100
Personal is a little high, material is a little low, and emotional is a little high. I would say they should be… P - 50/100
M - 45/100, and E - 50/100.
