The OP for this thread seems to have disappeared.

I see what you’re doing, Quasi. This relates to that thread where you said that by hitting a key inadvertently, the whole post disappears? I’ve had that problem too, and, after experimentation, I think it’s the space bar.

The concensus seems to be it’s the space bar , but as I am typing I am purposely strinkg the space ba r even in the middle of a w ord.

Maybe th e space bar in conjunction with another key?

I have pretty big hands, so maybe, in a huwge g ege hurry to posT aomethijng, I have hit on some kinfd i ewo m M YMYM of weird combination which erases my posts?

Being that I have dementia, I KNOW y’all have to take what I write with a bag full of salt, but this really DOES happen, and I lose what I wrote and have to recreate it.

All that gibberish above was intentional, by the way.

Must be one of those conundrums wrapped in an enema, is all I can figger!

Thanks

It would be CTRL-A then spacebar, if spacebar is involved.

That would select all the text, and then replace it with a space.

Oh, and CTRL-Z should rescue your post.

ETA: And now you’ve got me double spacing! :stuck_out_tongue:

Are you using the “Quick Reply” or the “Reply With Quote”?
If it’s the “Reply With Quote” which “Message Editor Interface” are you using; “Basic Editor”, “Standard Editor” or “Enhanced Interface”? (That’s all in your “User Control Panel” > “Your Control Panel” > “Settings & Options” > “Edit Options”.)

The Standard and the Enhanced have an “Undo” and “Redo” button on the top right of the message reply box. I just tested it and after deleting the whole post the “Undo” did just that un-deleted my post.

Also what BigT said! :smack:

CMC fnord!
The other, much clunkier solution is to save the post regularly and/or write the bulk of the post with Notepad and just use the reply box with the “Preview Post” button to check your coding etc.

Day-um. I never noticed those before. Thanks!
