just fooling around with a text-based browser
Wow, I remember Lynx and Pine I loved Pine.
Links works pretty well with vBulletin if you’ve got a huge freaking monitor (I was at 1680 x 1050 and using it all), as it makes an effort to mimic the graphical arrangement of elements… the box of smilies was a foot off to the right of the text entry box! Lots of arrow-key work to get cursor focus where you want it.
I like lynx and links, and I’ve posted with them many times. I also use the graphical links variant (requires X11, not exactly pretty) and what’s likely the best text-based browser, w3m. w3m draws tables correctly using the line-drawing characters in Unicode and, when compiled right and run in an xterm, will display graphics inline. Which looks reasonably odd.
