Test Thread: Bakers Dozen Categories So Far

I’m building a list of The Game Room thread Bakers Dozen. I’m only about a third of the way through so far, and that list follows. Little Nemo compiled one here, and that was almost 3 years and about 15,000 posts earlier, so my list when it’s done is going to be quite long.

Am testing it here, so far, to see how it goes. I plan to embed the links in the category name, not like they’re shown below. My plan is to list the categories in reverse chronological order, with the latest topics at the top. I’m also considering a second listing that groups the categories by topics, maybe with the Trivial Pursuit topics, but then some categories might belong in more than one topic so there’d be some duplicates with that.

Anyway, just some thoughts here and a test of what I have so far, so as to not hijack Bakers Dozen with a discussion there. I still have a ways to go and it’ll take me a few days to finish.

If you have thoughts about how this might be usefully done, I’m open to suggestions, but be advised that I will only capture the categories and the link to their starts.

I considered that. But I figured some people might like to see who started the category.

I considered that as well, amd realized that with a link to the the start of each category it would be easy enough for one to get to its completion - either scroll from the beginning or choose the next category’s link.

My list initially included:

but that was a lot of info and was taking way too long. I figured category including the link would be valuable enough for now.

Oops, Little Nemo, not to be nit-picky, and thanks again for wanting to help, but after checking a couple of your links they took me to the “View Single Post” view, and you cannot scroll among the whole thread. I’m taking it just one step further - from that view, clicking on Bakers Dozen takes one to the same post but within the thread, and that’s the URL I’m C&P’ing into the list.

Another reason why not to link to a category’s completion is that sometimes it’s just too much work. Case in point:

I don’t want to capture the first, only later having to read through the entire thread to realize it was completed at the second.

Where a category starts is clearer. Sometimes because of simulposts, two categories are started. In those cases (2 or 3 so far, IIRC) I’m adding a (not completed) at the end of the category name. But now as I think on it, I won’t include those at all. They don’t count unless the category is completed.
