Test thread — to test things out. Do not lock!

I’m guessing it’s some kind of header auto-formatting that’s applying italics even though it’s not specified.

As other have said, you can’t import leading spaces or tabs into Discourse and get something that looks like leading spaces or tabs did in a word processor. That simply does not work. In fact importing something with leading tabs or spaces makes a total mess you’ll need to clean up. The smart poster uses their word processor’s more powerful find/replace features to delete any/all indenting spaces or tabs first, then pastes the raw text into Discourse, then adds the indention they desire as follows. …

You can enter formatting codes in Discourse that will give you indention without bullets, hyphens, or paragraph numbers. Like this example:

Here's my lead unindented paragraph which is repetitive enough to word wrap because it's repetitive enough to word wrap because it's repetitive enough to word wrap because it's repetitive enough to word wrap because it's repetitive enough to word wrap.
Here's my first top-level indented paragraph which is repetitive enough to word wrap because it's repetitive enough to word wrap because it's repetitive enough to word wrap because it's repetitive enough to word wrap because it's repetitive enough to word wrap.

Here’s my second top-level indented paragraph which is repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap.

Here’s my first 2nd-level indented paragraph which is repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap.

Here’s my second 2nd-level indented paragraph which is repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap.

Here’s my first 3rd-level indented paragraph which is repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap.

Here’s my second 3rd-level indented paragraph which is repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap.

Here’s my third 2nd-level indented paragraph which is repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap.
Here’s the first paragraph of a second set of 3rd-level indented paragraphs which is repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap.

Here’s my second of the second set of 3rd-level indented paragraphs which is repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap.

Here’s my fourth 2nd-level indented paragraph which is repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap.

Here’s my third top-level indented paragraph which is repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap.

Here’s my fourth top-level indented paragraph which is repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap.

And last, but not least, here’s my final un-indented paragraph which is repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap because it’s repetitive enough to word wrap.

Here’s how it’s done:
To increment a level of indention, insert <ul> at the point you want the change. Use </ul> to decrease the indent level. You can put that code on a separate line to create extra vertical spacing or just run the paragraphs together to minimize the vertical white space. I’ve done the latter in my example.

You can quote me to see the coding.

@LSLGuy also helped me upthread, when I wanted to make nested lists.

I’ve lost the ability to blur spoilers.

Summary

Testing…

Yep. Cannot blur.

I restarted my phone. Can I blur now?

Summary

No…

I forced quit my browser, and restarted it. Can I blur now?

Summary

No…

Testing testing testing…

Still no. Usually the option to blur is listed here, near the bottom of this list of options:

I think they added an option; my guess is insert table is the new one. On my phone I have to scroll the list down to get to blur spoiler. The scroll bar appears on my phone immediately to the right of where your image cuts off.

(To clarify, I never had to scroll down to get to blur spoiler until just now when posting my results in the wordle thread. For me this is a new change as of today.)

Remember that all these things are just codes typed into the edit window. You don’t need to access them via the gear icon if you can remember what code to type. Or if you can find an example to quote and plagiarize.

The hard-to-remember code for spoiler is … [spoiler]. The equally hard code to remember for a collapsible summary is … [summary].

Works for me.

I’m using Sam’s Simple Theme on a Samsung Android tablet.

It’s details, not summary.

Some codes are more equally hard to remember than others.

Let’s see now…

Testing testing testing…

The blur option came back. Briefly. I blurred that last post.

I should have grabbed a screen shot, because now it is gone.

I suppose I can always manually type in the [spoiler] tag, but that’s a PITA.

I only grabbed a screen shot after the tags were applied, but not when the option was listed. It was there, once. But I’ve tried it again several times and the blur option was not available. That’s a bizarre SW bug.

D’oh! :man_facepalming: :man_facepalming: !!!

Thanks for correcting that.

@pjd: Bravo. Well played!

As others have already said, but you’ve not mentioned noticing …

Have you tried scrolling the list of items that appears when you click / tap the gear icon? For me it’s always the bottom-most choice just below “Build Poll”. But I can’t see it unless I scroll the list. And it is always there once I do scroll.
