Test Your Movie Knowledge: Part VI!

No one has gotten the John Candy one yet. Here’s a hint: he was not the main star of this particular movie.

Mr. B 12: Platoon (leeches/Willem Defoe)

Mr. B 8 Everything i needed to know about Lynyrd Skynrd, I learned from Steve Buscemi.

Con Air

TE6: Everything I needed to know about stylish accessorizing I learned from John Candy

Is it Nothing But Trouble?

Sublight, that’s an excellent answer and while it would work, Nothing But Trouble was not the particular flick I had in mind.

Have we abandoned this game? It’d be nice if some folks would come back to validate some answers here.

I haven’t abandoned it.

I_L_16 “everything I needed to know about the crusades, I learned from Max Von Sydow”

CG-3: Everything I needed to know about capturing Germans, I learned from Peter Berg.

The only Peter Berg movies I can think of are “The Last Seduction” and “the Great White Hype,” but neither seems like the right answer.

HF_17: “Everything I needed to know about pyrokinesis, I learned from Dennis Quaid.”
Wilder Napalm

LSD11: All I know about house arrest I learned from Robin Tunney
Empire Records?

LSD12: All I know about “what comes next” I learned from Alicia Witt
Urban Legend?

HEre’s a new one. I think I’m on B_9 Everything Ineeded to know about obscenity I learned from Warren Beatty.

B_9 Hopscotch?
I_L_17 “Everything I needed to know about buttleing, I learned from William Powell”

LSD 6- “In Dreams”

GQ 1- All I need to know about political corruption,I learned from Martin Mull.

GQ 2- All I need to know about rock music, I learned from Gena Rowlands.

GQ 3- All I need to know about surviving car wrecks, I learned from Glenn Ford.

GQ 4- All I need to know about film history, I learned from Donald O’Connor.

GQ 5- All I need to know about mutiny, I learned from Orson Welles.

GQ 6- All I need to know about beheading, I learned from Orson Welles.

GQ 7- All I need to know about sewers, I learned from Bernard Lee.

GQ 8- All I need to know about horse racing, I learned from Wilfred Hyde-White.

GQ 9- All I need to know about British military history, I learned from Michael Caine.

GQ 10- All I need to know about civil war, I learned from Carroll O’Connor.

I_L 16: The Seventh Seal

I haven’t abandoned mine, either. Everything i needed to know about garbage, I learned from Martin Sheen.

GQ 9: Zulu

Correct, but what are the other 9?

A hint: I picked the actors I used at random, so, in some cases, the actor I used may have a very small role.

A more useful hint: That includes the Carroll O’Connor film.

I_L_18 “Everything I needed to know about politics, I learned from Edward G. Robinson”

Governor Quinn, given the standstill we’re at with this thread, making things harder seems rather… well, what’s the point? It’s hard enough when we’re naming actors who were in primary roles in the films!

Sorry, TeaElle. In that case, I’ll give extra hints:

GQ 7- All I need to know about sewers, I learned from Joseph Cotten.

GQ 8- All I need to know about horse racing, I learned from Rex Harrison.

GQ 10- All I need to know about civil war, I learned from Richard Burton.

nope

My Fair Lady.

Tomorrow morning, I’ll create a part 7, and sweep ALL unanswered clues from ALL six threads into one.

Correct, Ilsa.

LSD6 and LSD16 were both guessed correctly. (I sympathize that somebody else actually sat through “In Dreams”. So bad. So very bad.)

But sorry, bibliophile, both LSD11 and LSD12 are wrong.
Ilsa, you may want to start fresh without bringing the unguessed clues forward. As it has been said, the difficulty of the remaining ones might be prohibitive.

And if the original posters of unanswered clues wants them guessed, they can certainly repost.

Just my two cents.

Well, let me do this – additional clues for all of my outstanding entries. The additional clues are in italics.

TE1: Everything I needed to know about female anatomy and sexual response I learned from Pauline Collins.

TE2: Everything I needed to know about dealing with unwanted rodents and hiding in totally obvious places I learned from Bridget Fonda

TE5: Everything I needed to know about subtle applause and snotty receptionist work I learned from Lucy Lee Flippin

TE6: Everything I needed to know about stylish accessorizing and the battery I learned from John Candy

TE7: Everything I needed to know about unbeatable football defense and adoration of a much older man I learned from Mariel Hemingway

I’ll simplify a few of mine that are left over.

Sub_2: Everything I need to know about going to the moon I learned from James Caan

Sub_3: Everything I need to know identifying ninjas who are half-Chinese I learned from Joan Chen

Sub5: Everything I need to know about having lesbian sex with Anne Heche, I learned from Joan Chen. And then I rewound it a few times just to make sure I’d learned it thoroughly.
