About 3/4 of the way down in this article is a little movie quote quiz with answers. I only got 6 out of 15. (And one of those I’m ashamed to remember.) For a couple of the movies no one should have seen them, let alone remember quotes. I guess it’s time to hit the video store.
My problem with quizzes like this is that I recognize the quotes, but have a hard time connecting many of them to the movie from which they come. (I have the same problem with people, I never forget a face, but have difficulty remembering anything else about the person–I only know I’ve seen them before.)
So, I only got a few (Major League, GoodFellas, Apocalypse Now, Jaws), though I recognized most of them (Bull Durham, Jaws, Meet the Parents, Caddyshack, Cabin Boy, Ferris Bueller). The other movies I haven’t seen.
FTR (as the article asserts movie quotes to be “a guy thing”), I’m male.
:smack: Holy crap. I am extremely sorry! Brain Freeze! I wish this board let you edit your own posts. I’ll try to grab a moderator, but I fear it’s pretty late for that.
My brothers and I often play the movie quote game, but we stick to movies we all know we’ve all seen. They’re both better at this than I am (my sister sucks at it so badly we won’t even let her play anymore.) I’m fast becoming a quote junkie for Kevin Smith films, and I routinely wipe the floor with my brothers on those, as well as the Godfather movies.
In the movie Stakeout, Richard Dreyfuss’s character is playing the movie quote game with Emilio Estevez. The quote he gives Estevez to ID is “This was no boating accident!” At that point, the action takes over and the question is left unanswered. What makes it fun is that the original line was from the movie Jaws, and was uttered by…Richard Dreyfuss.
