I took this test and got a 75%. I really thought I had done much better.
It plays 2 musical lines, one after the other, and you have to decide if it is the same line repeated or if the 2 are different. There is a fairly interesting ananlysis of how you did at the end.
So how did you do?

Some of the samples were tough for me to pick out because of the particular type of sound file it was.
I’d taken it thru a Sweet Adelines message board where it was stated that Baritones and Arrangers tend to score higher than others - I’m neither and I got an 87.4%

86.1% and I’m willing to be that most of my misses where ones that were the same, but I marked them as different. I think I was trying to listen for much more subtle differences then there really were.

I play guitar and sing in a choir. When I play guitar, I am not scared to accompany myself, but I am no great singer…

Musicians tend to score higher than non musicians, and singers tend to score the highest among musicians

86.1%. I know it’s supposed to be hard, but I’m disappointed in myself! (I’m a music major and got an A in both semesters of ear training, although it’s been a couple years since then.)

There were more than a few where I couldn’t remember the first one when it came time for the second.
On the cool side, I was correct on the one that only 22% of people get right.

83.3% when I took the test a while ago. BTW, there are 36 samples, so that score is 30 right out of 36.
In a couple of the samples I could hear the difference by the third or fourth note of the second version of the sample.
