Testing...please ignore

Just seeing what stuff looks like…

Oh, finding the “submit” button helped.

I guess we can’t edit. Oh well…who wants to be like SNOPES anyway?

Copied from Dan Rosenbaum’s Winletter:

Phil Katz

If you ever downloaded a file, you met Phil Katz. Katz wrote the
Shareware program PKZip http://www.winzip.com, far and away the most popular
File compression program. The program, written as a hobby in 1986, was part
of computer technology infrastructure, common as browsers would become.

Katz was found dead on April 14 at the age of 37. He apparently lived
a troubled life; the Milwaukee medical examiner put the cause of death as
complications from chronic alcoholism. He was found in a hotel room
holding a bottle of alcohol, and five empty liquor bottles were also
found in the room. Phil was a graduate of UWM Computer Science Engineering
Program and owner of PKWare Inc. http://www.pkware.com

No commentary here. But his passing, which was under-reported, should be noted.

Testing to see if vB requires a quotation mark in the hyperlink command in between the {url = } and the {http}.

The following is copied from the vB Code page. Does it say “vBulletin Home Page” as a hyperlink?

vBulletin Home Page

Here is the same thing with no quotation mark in between the {url = } and the {http}. Does it also say “vBulletin Home Page” as a hyperlink?

vBulletin Home Page

If it doesn’t need the quotation mark, then it’s just the same as the old UBB hyperlink setup. Is it a typo on the vB Code page?

test

Do italics work the same way

Howsabout bolding

and i thought having small, bolded words at the beginning of a post was just a new fad.

Just figuring out the new system.
