You might want to hunt down a list of fonts that are installed on every Windows XP, Mac OS X and Linux computer. Odds are, if you pick one from the list, most people will see your signature in its intended form. If you’re using some freeware Klingon font, odds are most people will just see plain Jane Verdana.
No offense meant to those named Jane.
Or you could hunt down the ones installed on windows and not care what Mac and Linux owners see.
