Texas Dopers: Are you voting for Kinky?

I saw Kinky & his Texas Jewboys play several times back in the Old Days. He’s a fine songwriter. His mystery books are pretty amusing. And I liked his column in Texas Monthly.

However, I won’t be voting for him. I’m a Democrat.

Another Independent looking to get on the ballot is Carole Keeton McClellan Ryland Strayhorn. (She’s got so much respect for the institution of marriage that she’s done it several times.) She might get some of Governor Goodhair’s votes, since she is actually a Republican. (She & Perry both started out as Democrats-- but she was never a cheerleader.)

After hearing him speak, I realized that this guy isn’t as quick witted and clever as I thought he was going to be. I was expecting a cross between Willie Nelson, Mark Twain, and James Carville. Instead, he was just wierd.

I also almost killed him in the Barnes and Noble parking lot a few months ago. I was pulling into a parking space, he was unloading stuff from his vehicle on the passenger side and was hunched over, I didn’t see him, screeeech! Almost end of campaign!

I didn’t deliberately not vote in the primary (I have only missed a couple of elections since I became of age), but I couldn’t get there that night.

I’m still not convinced he’s a good choice, but he’s not the same ol’ same ol’. I’ll just have to play it by ear come election night, I bet Kinky makes the ballot.

so far in Tarrant county (fort worth) they have collected over 3000 signatures. We had people coming in all day…most of them I talked to voted republican last time around…

Yep, I’m voting for Kinky. I even bought a Kinky for Governor t-shirt. I know he won’t win but I don’t effing care.
