Texas is turning liberal.

Exactly.

Heck, I’m Norwegian and about as liberal as they come, but if I lived in Texas I would wear a ten-gallon Hoss Cartwright cowboy hat and a belt buckle the size of a hubcap.

I mean, come on… its Texas.

Yes it’s Texas, but it’s not the 19th Century. Stop perpetuating the stereotype that I’m an ignorant redneck.

That’s because Dallas isn’t real Texas. It’s so far north it’s practically Canada.

I’ve heard Texans deny being southerners. In fact, some may get a little huffy over the distinction.

Heh. Texas is one big place, with a lot of big cities. And a lot of other places, as well.

There’s all kinds runnin’ around here. Stereotyping doesn’t work very well here.

Funny you mention that; I’ve heard Southerners deny that Texans are Southerners.

If you look at a map of the uS, you can see why they might make a fine point that Texas isn’t totally is the south. While not quite as vast (;)) as California, Texas does share the distinction of crossing quite a few lines of latitude.

I’ve never really thought of Texas as “The South”. Texas is Texas. They’re not kidding when they say “it’s like a whole other country”. I grew up in west Texas (San Angelo), so maybe more people in east Texas think of themselves as Southerners. I sure as hell don’t though.

And it should have been, “Texas: A Whole 'Nother Country”
