I teach Creative Thinking, and this might be the most creative thing I’ve heard in months. You get extra credit, and no homework this weekend.
Soldiers aren’t automatons, and they aren’t stupid. The may not refuse a direct order, but they might “find” possible malfunctions in the plane’s systems, or they may simply declare themselves “medically unfit” to fly.
Putin doesn’t want him. It’ll be a headache with no upside. Trump may ask, but will be rebuffed.
If he flees, I think it’ll be somewhere semi unexpected, like Dubai.
i assume that Air force One can’t just take off on a whim. There must be dozens of security people who have to be on board. The plane has to be guarded while it is on the ground at the landing site, etc. And there must be lots of technical issues to be cleared in advance–I assume that the pilots have to ensure that the facility they are planning to land in has proper re-fueling procedures, with security, and has a private runway and parking area separate from other commercial traffic, proper code signals to announce to the radar operators en route that the US President in on board, so they get first clearance if they cross commercial airlanes, etc.
If Trump flees, it will be after he is no longer President, and can take his private jet. And even then, he’ll have to ditch his Secret Service bodyguards somehow.

Under ordinary circumstances, sure. But, Air Force One is a military aircraft. The crew are Air Force personnel, just like it says on the tin. The President is the Commander-in-Chief. If he gives them an order that violates U.S. laws, they are obligated to refuse it. If he gives them an order that violates international air traffic regulations, they might balk, but Air Force pilots violate air traffic regulations as a matter of routine - like when they’re bombing someone. If he gives them an order that just violates normal procedures, they might protest, but ultimately they have to follow it. The pilots are commissioned officers, so in an extreme, they might resign their commissions rather than follow a lawful order that violates their conscience, but I wouldn’t count on it.
He “ditches” them by telling them to go home. U.S. law obligates the U.S. Secret Service to offer protection to former U.S. Presidents. In no way does it require the former president to accept it. Richard Nixon relinquished his Secret Service protection in 1985.
Honestly, I think all this talk of Trump fleeing to Russia is fanciful, wishful thinking. He’s a useful idiot, not a formal Russian asset. His legal troubles are run-of-the-mill problems for a sleazy property developer. If he “flees”, it’s not going to be a dramatic flight from justice. He’ll “go on vacation” to an overseas property in a country with weak or non-existent extradition treaties with the U.S., and just not come back. I personally think it’s more likely he just uses the normal legal tactics of wealthy white collar criminals and just tries to tangle up the courts in endless motions and appeals.

I recall a number of security experts have expressed worry about whether Trump will protect national security secrets he has been privy to once he leaves office. They actually are somewhat relieved that he dodges or doesn’t pay attention during intelligence briefings. However, there might have been enough important information that stuck to his pea brain that Putin might be interested in trying to extract it.
I wonder how much real intelligence he’s been given the last few years. Once it became obvious that he had no interest in it they could just feed him useless info, like the average daily golfers on his courses.
We have no way of knowing for sure, but all of the reporting I’ve read has consistently indicated he doesn’t read the President’s Daily Briefing, and relies on brief oral summaries. How much attention he really pays to those and how much of that information he actually retains is unclear.
If he’s deliberately being fed “useless” info, the Director of National Intelligence, National Security Advisor, and Director of Central Intelligence are committing insubordination bordering on criminal conduct. It seems fairly clear, though, that they’re giving him a lot less information than previous presidents, at President Trump’s own insistence.
This is quite likely, or else he’ll be another sneering right wing media figure. There are so many of them. The wreckage he left behind will remain.
People now hardly remember who Ernst Rohm was, but the damage Rohm did had a hell of an impact.

NO NEED TO PANIC ABOUT SUPREME COURT REJECTING TEXAS LAWSUIT!!!
SCOTUS rejected the TX case because TX filed their case as “motion for leave to file a bill of complaint”.
However, SCOTUS signals to TX and other states that if they file their cases as “motion to file the bill of complaint”, then the cases will be heard.
Texas does not have standing in the SCOTUS because they can’t really prove they were directly treated unfairly by those 4 states. But, they can prove they were unfairly treated when it is a bill of complaint.
So when Texas proves it was unfairly treated legally, that proves they have standing and can then present the same evidence of gross unconstitutional behavior by those 4 states.
In simple terms, SCOTUS only denied the standing of the lawsuit, NOT the arguments or substance at all! Texas and/or other states can re-file their cases against WI MI PA GA with the correct terms as “motion to file the bill of complaint”, their standing will be accepted first, and their cases will be heard by SCOTUS."
Trump is still ok.
This is sov-cit level “magic words” legal gobbledygook.
Even if the complaint could somehow be refiled in a manner that the Court agreed to hear the case, two conservative justices (Alito & Thomas) have already said it has no merit. So even in the vanishingly unlikely scenario that Trump’s 3 appointees ignored the law and did what Trump wants, Texas still loses 5-4.

All we need to do is write-in Trump for BOTH races and he’ll win, he’ll have received most votes in THE ELECTION easily.
