Thai Army to Introduce "Third Category"for Transsexuals

Story here.

This reminds me of a Thai movie called Saving Private Tootsie. No kidding, that was the English-language title. I think it said something completely different in Thai. But it was about a group of transvestite volleyball players who became stranded in a remote area upcountry and had to be rescued by an army unit. Naturally, several of the soldiers got in touch with their feminine side. It sounds like a good premise, but believe me, Thai movies are pretty awful. Even the wife won’t watch them. And they’re forever throwing at least one transvestite in for comic relief, often someone who does not look the least bit feminine.

If transvestite volleyball players sounds familiar to some of you, that film was actually a sequel to Iron Ladies, which played in the US and was based on the true story of a team of transvestite volleyball players. The sequel is completely fictional, though.

And yes, I know there’s a difference between transvestites and transsexuals.

UPDATE: Ten ladyboys have made the news here for reporting for military conscription. Story here. Looks like they’ve not introduced that third category yet. Love those photos.

Hey man, I saw Beautiful Boxer. Them Thai trannies is tough sumbitches…er…daughtobitches?

Hey if they can be champion Muay Thai fighters, surely they can serve in the army, right?

Damn, man, that’s one obscure simulpost!

They sure are. When running into a pack of them at 2 or 3am on Sukhumvit Road, I take evasive action, let me tell ya!
