Thank You Card Etiquette for Group Gifts

I recently had a baby and I’m finally getting around to writing thank you cards for the baby gifts. My friends from college gave us a group gift - a really nice stroller. I definitely want to send each of them a thank you note, but I’m struggling with what to say. Do I just thank them for the stroller or thank them for their contributions towards the group gift? Any thoughts?

As a sleep-deprived new mom, my brain isn’t working too well these days…

I think the best thing to do is to thank each individual as if they alone had given you the gift. Say everything you would have said if a single person had given you the gift, and don’t mention the group aspect of it.

I would thank them for the lovely/fantastic/generous gift, and say that it is very appreciated. No mention of “group gift” or “contribution.”

Exactly.

Thirded. I get a group gift at the end of every school year from my students, usually a very generous gift certificate to the mall or local shop, and I just write a note to each child, thanking them for the wonderful present.
