According to Wiki, Obama, along with a team of other lawyers, served as local counsel for them in 1995 for a voting rights lawsuit they filed that was joined by the Justice Department. In the Democratic primaries in 2008, Obama hired an ACORN affiliate in a get-out-the-vote drive. Obama’s campaign did not have any official involvement with them in the general election.

You know, I’m really worried that this whole ACORN scandal might break wide open, maybe even lead to charges that the Obama administration used the Justice Dept to interfere with elections on trumped-up charges. Then all our tighty-righty friends would be demanding that they be dragged out nekkid, horsewhipped, and run out on a rail, tarred and feathered.
And I’d have to agree with that, using the Justice Dept for that would demand drastic retribution, no doubt about it! Gosh, I sure hope not. That would be really awful.

As far as I know, Glenn Beck was the first to air the undercover footage of the ACORN workers advising the “pimp” and his “prostitute” on how to skirt tax laws and find ways to get underage girls from El Salvador declared as dependents so as to allow them to work as prostitutes in the US.
