Thank you, TurboTax Commercials, for providing me with my newest crush! *Swoon*

TurboTax’s current ad campaign is “It doesn’t take a genius to do your taxes”.

The ad campaign shows people who have certain anxiety about doing their taxes so they are provided with the help of some particular real life genius. With the genius’ help, they find that doing their taxes with TurboTax is very easy. Pretty good ad campaign. It’s fun and memorable and it gets the point across.

Also, the ad campaign has provided me with my newest crush and I’m already fantasizing about getting married, showing her off to my friends, and making sweet sweet love.

I don’t exactly follow the world of higher mathematics, I know nothing of graph theory or combinatorial optimization, so I had never even heard of Dr. Maria Chudnovsky before seeing her TurboTax commercial (YouTube link). But as soon as I did see it, I knew right away that I wanted to be giving this woman a foot rub as she tells me about her day while I have her dinner in the oven.

I rushed off to find her Wikipedia page and just fell deeper and deeper in love. Sure, it says that she is married but her husband is a viola player. Not even violin- viola. If I couldn’t successfully win a woman’s heart away from a viola player I’d have been out of the game years ago.

Here’s a pic of her looking very cute standing in front of what I assume is math stuff.
If you happen to know for a fact that she kicks puppies, advocates in favor of child labor in unsafe factories, or anything else horrible… please use spoiler tags. I wish to remain blissful in my fantasy romance.

All I have to say is that I knew exactly who you were talking about as soon as I read the thread title, and that it wasn’t Michio Kaku

With that said, the stills don’t really do it for me. She’s at her best in the advert.

I saw her first! She’s MINE!

Well, with the stills one doesn’t get to enjoy her adorable accent.

Sorry, SDMB board rules. First one to start a Thread about a crush gets to be the first one to ask that crush out on a date.

If for some unfathomable reason she rejects me, then you are welcome to ask her out.

I don’t know if that’s math stuff. I made the same doodles in my math notebook instead of paying attention and got C’s.

What I’m trying to say is that I think she’s faking it.

Runs off to start threads about Parker Posey, Gillian Jacobs, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Y’all are gonna think I’m nuts, but I think I may have traded messages with that blonde a couple weeks ago.

raises my hand in shame. I too went looking to find out who she was.

I shed a tear at seeing all of the math stuff. I think I’m smart but I ain’t that smart.

I wouldn’t mind being the dumb meat in a Michio/Neil deGrasse sandwich.
