My poem was yet another attempt to tease him about his screen name.
And I will rephrase that last line: “Seriously, folks, if you think Bill is interesting and fun on the board, you should hang out with him in real life. He’s the best darn brother a Bean ever had!”

I see plenty of folks who are wrong on the board. They don’t really get me upset. I see plenty of folks who are pompous on the board. They don’t really get me too upset. I see plenty of folks who are offensive on the board. They don’t really get me upset.
But when I see someone who is all three at once, it sorta ticks me off (particularly when he is indulging in my current pet peeve, newbie-bashing). I figured it would do him some good to get knocked down a bit. It surprised me that he came back for more, particularly when in so doing he crammed his foot further down his throat. After that I thought I should explain it to him in terms that even he could not misunderstand.
Anyway, it sometimes feels good when you get the opportunity to put a fool in his place. So far he’s changed his name, and we’ll have to see if he changes his ways. (Currently, it ain’t looking too likely.)
My advice, Nacho, is just to drop it with him. You came out ahead on all fronts, and showed class in not stooping to his level. Stay the course, ignore the pricks, and keep posting the good stuff.
And let me repeat, because apparently it cannot be said enough: Except for the really small percentage that are trolls (who get washed out soon enough), new posters are our life blood, they keep this message board vital and interesting, and without them we would grow stagnant and die. You were a newbie once. Give them all the break they deserve.
