Well, my criminal act payed off. Who says “Crime doesn’t pay?”
I got banned from the board by the software. How that happened is a long story, and a dull one, so I won’t go into it.
Anyway, I couldn’t get any results through the channels that are provided to communicate with the board rulers after almost 3 months and many tries.
With nothing to lose I broke the rule by registering under a new name and posted about my problem.
Cajun Man told me to email Tuba Diva. I did that and within
one, count them one, day he fixed the problem and got me back on the board.
I feel like an American Revolutionary who petitioned the king and parliament for years with no result and finally violated God’s law and rebelled against King and Country.
I’m glad you’re back. Just the other day I was wondering where you have been lately. The Revolutionary War? I knew you were one of our more…uh…senior members but I didn’t realize that you went back that far!
I could have but there are a lot of email addresses associated with SDMB administration.
When the notice came up on the screen that I was personna non grata, there was a “Contract us” button along with it so I used that. In fact I used it a number of times naively thinking that “contact us” meant that a contact would be made. Foolish me.
Software writers and users can’t think of everything. When you change you email address the software sends an automatic message to the new address as a test. When a response came back that there was no such address as the one I entered I suppose my registration was kicked in limbo.
It would be nice if the software would also automatically send a “red flag” message to someone in authority on SDMB that there is something that needs a human being to look into.
