That 80s Hijacking TV movie

What was the name of the TV movie that came out in the mid-1980s about terrorists who hijack a plane, and the passengers fight back and manage to subdue them, and then dispense a little vigilante justice?

It was quite harrowing, as I remember, but then again, I was only 12 or 13 at the time it aired.

I think I remember a hijack movie called Passenger 57…with Wesley Snipes, if I recall.

It was a 1985 TV movie called “Hostage Flight”

Haven’t there been a few dozen MFTVMs like that? Maybe Cafe Society is a better place for this thread.

Thank you, BobT.

Hopefully, this movie will be rereleased as a rallying cry for America.

If there is any wisdom, a major studio will pick it up and give it some semblence of an advertising campaign for video release, or else replay it on prime time TV. If not for its sheer commercial value, then at least as a “how-to” on how to react to terrorist activity on a plane.

This movie takes no prisoners.

Just remember, the Klingons don’t take any prisoners either. (Kirk said so near the beginning of The Wrath of Khan.)

It also wasn’t very good IMO. I don’t think that anyone is going to show that on TV in the near future because it is more likely to upset people than to inspire them.

As for being a “how-to” for people, IIRC there was a passenger on the plane who was carrying a gun. I believe he was a police officer played by John Karlen.
