That bad, bad, bad Meeko the mysterious Siamese

She acted sick all through Christmas.
I sent her to the Vet, Monday.
She barfed twice in Son-of-a-wreks truck.
He sped thinking she was dying.
Vet determined no such terminal illness was on board. She was just being a jerky Siamese.

Came home. She was still hiding alittle. But eating, grooming and taking care of her other needs.
Bear, her brother was worried. Howling at her occasionally and nudging her along. Which she took umbrage too.

Now…3 days later she’s all over me. Purring, kissing, wanting pets. This is not like her at all.
Bear is howling on the dryer. He wants her in there. She ain’t going. She’s asleep in my lap with a Cheshire smile on her face.

This cat won’t do!!

Cats are mysterious and unknowable creatures. Dogs strive to be treated like any other member of the family and become an integral part of the family. Cats will occasionally interact with humans when it’s in their interest to do so, but spend most of their time by themselves, physically and emotionally detached from everyone and everything around them.

Proof that they are morally superior creatures.

Many of the cats I’ve known seem to have a biological imperative to not let the humans in their lives assume too much about their behavior.

“Ohhh, look, he sleeps there every day, that must be his favorite spot!” Cat vacates that spot, and avoids it for months.

“This is his very favorite food!” One day, he decides that that food is terrible, and he will never eat it again.

“He never comes to see me.” Cat suddenly decides your lap is the best place ever.

Or, maybe proof that cats have the intelligence of a rutabaga.

A Dog.

tsk-tsk.

Meeko has NOT been happy this whole entire year! Beck has been in and out of the hospital, in and out of rehab, she’s brought strange people into HER (Meeko’s) house, and even brought in an outcast cat! There have been relatives, peace-disturbing grandWreks (eep!), holidays, thinderstorms, threatened tornados, ice and snow.

Even a ghost!

Meeko is punishing you. Shape up, or she’ll have to bring on more of her displeasure!

Poor Meeko! Auntie VOW understands!

You don’t know the cats I have known.

And I have known a lot of cats. (There’s one leaning on my arm at the moment.)

That cat’s doing just fine.

As you know perfectly well. Glad you’re doing fine with cat on lap, Beck!

Siamese do take pleasure in being perverse. She loves you - on her terms. Poor Bear.
