Sadly, it looks way better in the stills than it did on tv–when I first saw it, I turned to my husband and asked, “Did I somehow miss that she’s six months pregnant?” The red part of the skirt really caught the light, which visually brought it waaaaaay forward. Not flattering.

A couple of days ago, I told my husband that I usually loved Michelle Obama’s clothes, but a couple of times I had said, “Michelle Obama, what ARE you wearing?”
Last night, she walked out and I said, “Michelle Obama, what ARE you wearing?!!!” He laughed for a good five minutes.

I disagree. I think the dress was absolutely stunning. I also thought the children in coordinating colors looked lovely.
Oh please. That is ridiculous. My 9 year old has a beautiful black dress with silver lining and a black and silver jacket and it is very age appropriate. Little girls don’t always have to look like flowers.
I didn’t notice the dress. I had her undressed with my eyes before she made it to the front of the stage.
