What ever happened to that high profile murder case back east. The main thing I remember is that the guy killed his mistress, then put her in a cooler and tried to dump her in the ocean. Someone founde the cooler with the buullet hole in it and he got busted.
What ever happened?
He was arrested, tried, and convicted and is now serving a life sentence.
Thomas Capano, attorney at law, former state official, wealthy Delaware landowner, was found guilty of the charge that he murdered Anne Marie Fahey, the appointment secretary to the governor of Delaware. Ms. Fahey had been his mistress for several years but had broken off the affair and taken up with another man. Filled with jealousy, he invited her to dinner, brought her to his home, and shot her, afterwards placing her body in a cooler and dumping it out at sea.
He was sentenced to death.
If you get Court TV, the “Crime Stories” series has a segment on the murder and subsequent trial; it’ll give you the full story.

Oops - I stand corrected in terms of the sentence.
If you prefer to read about the case I recommend Fatal Embrace. There are a couple of other books about the case out there but this is one is written by local reporters and has a more personal touch. And if you really want to go into detail read the articles at the Capano Archive.

you MUST be doing it because you think it’s the right thing to do.”
