Anne Marie Fahey murder- "And Never Let Her Go"

Watching the movie tonight. Anyone seen it or familiar with the true story it’s based on? According to the reviewers on the IMDB, the movie is pretty accurate, except for Kathryn Morris not looking anything like the real Anne.

According to the film, it took the police and the Feds six months to get a warrant to search Capano’s house.

I like Mark Harmon with brown hair. When the cops started to tighten the screws on him, I saw Gibbs come out.

Haven’t seen the movie, but looking at the Capano Wikipedia entry recalled the real case. I specifically remember hearing about how they shot the cooler in the ocean to get it to sink.

I was living in Maryland at the time so it was regional news.

I’ve only seen the 48 Hours (or one of those) episode on it on ID.

I recently read the Ann Rule account of the crime (of the same name).

Loves me some true crime! It was no “The Stranger Beside Me” but it was pretty good.

I love that one of the IMDB reviewers suggests that Mark Harmon’s success in villainous murderer roles is going to hamper his future career.

I don’t think I’ve seen this particular movie version, but I know I’ve seen the story depicted many times, including in some of the T.V. crime franchises. I’ve definitely read the Ann Rule book.

I haven’t seen the movie, but I’m pretty familiar with the case. As mentioned upthread, it was in the news here in Maryland, and I’ve read various books and synopses. I also dated a woman who knew Anne.

Capano seems unbelievably remorseless. And with his connections and pull, it’s a relief he actually went down.

I definitely saw some Gibbs-isms–the short temper, the unexpected flash of a smile, the stare, walking away without a word. It’s just that as Gibbs, he uses his powers for good not evil.

Capano did seem like an industrial strength narcissist.

Once people started spilling the beans, there really was a lot of evidence against him. Like the brother who helped him dispose of the body and the poor, deluded girlfriend who bought him the gun. (Rachel Ward has come a long way from when she seduced the once and future Cardinal Richard Chamberlain in Australia. She still looks fabulous.)

I’m a Delawarean, so I’m more than a little familiar with the case. The Capanos were (and still are, to an extent) a big deal locally. And everyone knew someone who was either a Capano or a Fahey…

The things that went on were shocking- replacing the couch and the carpet, the cooler, and the one brother and wife turning state’s evidence to reduce their own penalties for drugs/firearms (which were, if I remember correctly, left unsecured in one of the childrens’ bedrooms).
