doesn’t seem to be there during peak hours. Is it me or does it stop functioning after a certain number of people sign on? Do you guys turn it on and off?

BTW, I like it. I’ve always wondered how many people were out there.

It’s showing up now, at about 1 o’clock Eastern on a Monday afternoon. I’ve never not seen it, actually, since it was instated a few weeks ago.

By the way, how tough would it be to have a Members/Guest tally on each forum? Hell, to have one for each thread (although I think it would be silly to have it for most threads)?

Pretty hard for the 1.1.6 version software, and generating the list would slow the server down considerably.

I don’t see the neat little bar during peak hours because I am at work during peak hours. I cannot see the neat little blue bar at work at any time. I can see the neat little blue bar at home at all times.

Oh, there. I’ve never seen that before, but usually I just use the jump forum button, and rarely the main SDMB screen.

FWIW, it’s there all the time, or at least it should be. I see it at all possible hours, myself. Turning it on of off would require our main man Jerry to actively change the settings each and every time. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t do that.

The screen I saw at work for the last week is the screen saved on my hard drive. This is my guess.

I get to the Dope at work by the pull down menu that shows the last 10 or so places I’d last been to. I believe (and I’m sure I’ll hear it if I’m wrong) that this retreived a saved page.
This is the conclusion I came to when Cafe Society came around. There was no Cafe Society on the messageboard page. When I hit reload it appeared. Along with the neat little blue bar.

So, I guess I was flipping out. But I wasn’t seeing things. Or not seeing things as the case may be.

I’m sorry. Can’t we all get along?
