That never happened to me before in 10+ years of clubbing

In most cases, there’s a big difference in someone being visibly too intoxicated to appropriately serve, and the legal driving limit which is .08 in most states these days, I believe.

If bars were not allowed to serve any customers at all after they’d reached the legal driving BAC level (if say, you had to blow a breathalyzer before recieving a drink each and every time) there would very soon be no bars, for they’d all go out of business.

Er…I got to this thread via a link in another thread, and neglected to look at the dates of the OP, and just realized this after I posted it.

It was actually kind of a string of threads that got me here, because one Pit thread referred me to a slightly older post, to which I followed a link to yet another older post, which I think might have prompted me to click on an even older link than that, and I have far too many windows open as well as reading too many threads at once on far too little caffiene and got confuzzled.

blushes sheepily Sorry for bumping an old thread. :frowning:

trundles off to go make more coffee, still blushing

The OP is a prime example of why I only go to a place where everybody knows my name. And they’re always glad I came. I like to go where people know, our troubles are all the same. We like to go where everybody knows our names.

Damn, now I miss Ottawa, thanks a lot Cerri! Just kidding

Anyway, I didn’t really want to mention this, but now that this thread was bumped, it’s the perfect place to do so: On Halloween I was at one of the discos around here and they actually kicked one guy out, because he was too drunk! Ok, that guy couldn’t even stand straight anymore, so it was probably a good idea to do so, but I’m quite shocked nonetheless, because I claimed they wouldn’t do this here.

Just posting to say I’m surprised that you can get kicked out of a bar for being drunk, I thought that was kind of how they made their money, serving liquor and getting people drunk. I think you’d have to throw up on someone for that to happen I the bars I’ve visited.

Silly americans

Well, this happened in Canada and as I said, I recently saw someone being kicked out in Germany as well.

With Barrymore’s it kinda made sense: Since there was a huge line outside, they could sell more stuff by kicking out people, who’ve had enough, and filling that space with the guys outside
