Good question. I stopped buying the little cans for just this reason. I suppose I could have moved the 'chovies and their oil into a little tupperware container, but it was easier to start buying the Italian kind which are packed in a little potbellied jar. This makes it a snap to seal the jar back up and store it in the fridge.
