Liberals didn’t force the GOP to nominate Donald Trump. You could in theory have found a decent, principled Republican to run against Hillary Clinton. In practice, though, that would simply not have attracted the necessary conservative voters.

The difference is that millions of people weren’t attempting to adopt Sinatra’s mob-esque lifestyle, whereas the criminality and misogyny of music by the likes of Jay-Z have been promoted and championed by an entire ideological movement that also seeks to elevate their purveyors to heroic levels.
