Did no one else notice the huge pupils in her eyes? That had to be the result of some kind of drug. Otherwise her demeanor seemed more or less normal, but those were some freakishly large pupils.

Eyedrops, some medications, a few diseases and injuries, anxiety or excitement. Some people have genetically larger pupils. Then there are anime contact lenses. There are a lot of ways to get large pupils. But you know, had to be drugs :rolleyes:

(Since dilated pupils are a sign of sexual excitement, and projecting that is sort of an important part of her career, and all this publicity is probably going to spike the sales of her films, my bet would be on contacts. She doesn’t seem dumb.)

Thanks for exemplifying exactly what I was talking about above. The problems with what liberalism has wrought in this country have nothing to do with efforts to eliminate racism, or women’s rights or religion. Most people in this country can readily see the inhumanity of racism and that women deserve equal pay for equal work and the freedom to pursue whatever careers they like. What people don’t like is being attacked and called names the instant you sense some degree of opposition. They don’t like that it’s virtually impossible to keep bad guys in jail and how prevalent and widespread crime has become. They don’t like what our educational system has become, where college graduates speak in ways that never would have passed 8th grade English in 1960, people can’t do math, and that the primary function of education these days seems to be to crank out as many pro-liberal students as possible. They don’t like that you’ve not only increased the danger of crime but are simultaneously trying to take away their ability to defend themselves from it. Etc., etc., etc. None of this realistically has anything to do with racism or sexism. What it has to do with is a desire to live like civilized human beings free from filth and crime and an ever encroaching government trying to tell them how to live their lives.

So elect a man who’s the epitome of every value you’re lamenting about what’s wrong with America in this thread?

You support equal rights, so elect the biggest bigot you can find? You’d like to see lower crime rates, so elect a dirty, corrupt, white collar criminal? You want to see humanity returned back to something more civil and pure, so elect a pussy-grabbing, sexist adulterer who bullies people and brags about that and everything else, like a petulant child?

You want real, frank discussion, and you elect a pathological liar.

People around here claim to find lots of things creepy. There was nothing of the starry-eyed innocent about her, even when she first met him and when she started messing around with him. She knew he was married; and married to a woman he had cheated on his first wife with, at that.

Possibly she looked at his age, and the lengths of his marriages, and figured that he didn’t have another marriage in him, and if she could last a good ten years that she’d be the one they called the Widder Trump when he finally kicked it. I have no doubt that THAT prize was worth overlooking a side piece or tw[del]o[/del]elve in her personal calculus.

You’re being facetious but the fact is that they and other hallmarks/consequences of 50 years of liberalism are exactly what caused the election of Donald Trump. Not that I expect anyone around here to pull their heads out of the sand and recognize or acknowledge it, but still it won’t hurt to have it on the record.

We acknowledge it, and it was worth it.

Trump’s supporters are angry about egalitarianism and multiculturalism at root. They think America is meant to be a white, christian, native born patriarchy and the culture is moving away from that. America is full of empowered non-whites, empowered women, secularists, muslims, immigrants, latinos, etc. Also our culture has abandoned christian ‘morals’ which is also a good thing, as the election of Trump or the support for Roy Moore has shown that fundamentalist christians are one of the least moral, least ethical demographics in America.

As liberals we support America moving away from that and towards multiculturalism and secularism. The fact that this causes backlashes like the rise of Trump or the rise of white nationalism is something we understand, but we understand these backlashes aren’t permanent. The resurgence of the KKK in the 1960s in response to egalitarianism wasn’t pleasant, but it wasn’t permanent either. Neither is Trump. It is just a sad price society has to pay to advance forward.

I watched the 60 Minutes interview. The funny thing is that the response from Trump’s camp seems to alternate between “She’s making it all up” and “She’s violating the non-disclosure agreement she signed.” Well, which is it? Either nothing happened because she’s lying, or something happened but you bribed her to shut up about it.

And personally, I think Trump should just own up to sleeping with her, that other woman (Karen McDougal) and all the others. “Sure, I slept with them. If you could sleep with porn stars and Playboy models, you’d do so as well.” It’s not as if any of us could think any less of him.
