The thing that gets me about this woman is that she never blinks!
Please leave your SDMB membership card and secret decoder ring at the door as you leave.
Good day, sir.
I SAID GOOD DAY!
It’s not the scripting, it’s her delivery. She’s clearly memorized the words, but it comes across like she doesn’t understand what they mean. Much like I could recite a short speech about string theory, but it wouldn’t actually resonate in my brain.
It depends on the effect it has on your gait to be fair. Any unusual gait issues can lead to arthritis, hip and back issues down the line. (I’m dealing with that now myself.)
This thread reminds me of an '80s movie called Looker. In the movie, models were laser scanned (in the nude!) and then sent to a plastic surgeon to do very precise changes (eyebrow up 1 mm, chin in 2 mm, etc). These changes made the viewers respond with a maximum response to advertisements. Maybe the T-Mobile chick is a product of that process.
Unfortunately, it didn’t work out for the models in the movie. After the surgery, a computer would fully digitize them and her likeness would be used in the commercials. The greedy producers didn’t want to pay license fees to the models, so he would have them murdered.
That’s cool. More for me.
Did anybody else think that the fuchsia dress in the latest commercials wasn’t as nice as the pink polka dot dress in the earlier commercials.
As far as hottest goes: T-mobile girl is hot, Anna Hathaway is hotter and Catherine Zeta-Jones in her heyday was hotter than both of them.
Asian guy saying “in yo face” to his mother was what really irritated me, not the chick.
Not a good actress, either. Her agent is absolutely brilliant, however. She’s at best the goofy-looking sidekick chick, but ends up in starring roles.
I think she’s lovely. She does have an awkwardness about her, but it’s endearing. The commercials all suck.
If you’re one of those disturb who thinks every slim woman looks unhealthy, unnatural, or scary, then I can see why you’d be creeped out.
She holds her arms too far behind her. When she’s walking her elbows are generally behind her hips, yet she looks like she’s trying to slouch her shoulders. It makes for awkward walking.
I love the dresses and I think she’s kind of cute, but the commercials are seriously annoying.
She’s high-waisted (not high and wasted), and wearing tall heels. That emphasizes her legs and makes them look disproportionately long. Also, tall heels are harder to walk and balance on, and some women try too much. I think that might contribute to the awkwardness of her walking.
I think it’s something to do with the way she’s worse than most at smiling for the camera. She doesn’t look smiley, she actually looks unhappy. That’s why she looks fake (having only seen the stills, by the way).
Yes! That too!
Somebody needs to catalog those last few posts and make it clear which ones refer to Ann Hathaway.
Posts 49 on refer to the T-mobile girl.
I don’t get what people see in her. Her features are all too big for her face and it gives her this “gooney” look. I thought it was bad when they cast her in Barbara Feldon’s old role in the Get Smart remake, but to have HER play Catwoman? OH HELL NAW
I dunno, she looks Okay to me:
