I came up with the title of this thread in response to someone somewhere claiming that a certain event that involved the decision making capabilities of a certain group of people was possible. I admitted it was possible, but the likelihood of them making such a decision based on past behavior was vanishingly small and thought it was a good analogy.
So I’m interested in what other kinds of absurd things people can come up with that are logically possible in that people could make such a decision, but are effectively impossible to happen. Not things that are just incredibly unlikely, such as Donald Trump being elected President (to get that out of the way), but things that would be, like the title of the post, not even in the realm of reasonable actions for someone to actually take even though they logically might be able to. I would also stay away from “I will do such and such”, as the idea is to come up with things other people or organizations would do that are 100% opposite from what they stand for.
Here’s another one to get you started:
…as PETA sponsoring a bull fight.
…as Bill Nye the Science Guy giving out weekly horoscopes.
That’s as likely as my feet smelling like freshly-cut long-stemmed roses.
That’s as likely as Ben & Jerry’s naming their next flavor after Shaun Cassidy.
That’s as likely as Trump getting into Mensa.
That’s as likely as Boy George becoming a Navy SEAL.
-as there being a rabbi named Christian Muhammad.
That’s as likely as Mr. Poopybutthole being the villain of the show.
That’s as likely as Kevin Hart becoming the new James Bond.
That’s as likely as Donald Trump becoming President…with a 100% approval rating.
That’s as likely as Jason really being dead at the end of a “Friday the 13th” movie.
That’s as likely as Google hiring a Republican.
That’s as likely as John Travolta and Tom Cruise coming out as Scientology’s first legally wed gay couple (I’ve said that on occasion).
That’s as likely as Dave Barry winning the Nobel Prize for Literature.
That’s as likely as the local McDonald’s getting a three-star Michelin rating.
As likely as pigs flying through hell with hockey sticks.
That’s as likely as a kosher bacon cheeseburger.
That’s as likely as Scotty reporting to Kirk there’s enough power available.
Using vegetarian soy cheese and soy bacon would keep it kosher.
That’s as likely as a sitcom adaptation of Finnegans Wake.
