Do you think that it is likely that Donald Trump will say, “They should make me pope. I would be the greatest pope ever.” or something similar. I would hope that his handlers have already warned him not to say this but I don’t think he always listens.
I imagine what he might say, based on past behavior. Then I try to think of something worse than that. What he actually says will end up be worse than anything I can think of on my own. Other than that generality I cannot offer speculation on his exact wordage.
I’m sure his handlers have explained to him that the Pope only works for God and the position would therefore be a demotion for him.
I 100% believe Trump has the ego to say something like this but I doubt he has any interest in being Pope so he won’t. Also, even he has to realize he is so ineligible for the position that there is truly a zero chance it could happen
If the US buys the Vatican from the Church (why wouldn’t they sell?) he can be boss of the pope.
But the vow of celibacy is on his bucket list of “Vows To Break”.
We need to do away with the position of Pope and all other religious hierarchy (which just exists to separate us) and appoint a worldwide ruler — a strong ruler, a compassionate ruler. A permanent ruler.

I can see him saying something along the lines of it’s time for an American Pope, which will of course destroy whatever faint possibility there is of the Cardinals choosing an American.

I think it’s possible he might make some tangential comment implying that he could be a great pope, or that he should be involved in appointing or validating the next pope, or something like that - but specifically, as a casual aside that is not only wrong, but also insulting in the very fact of being casual about such a thing.
