That's it, I've had enough- I'm going to Norway!

that’s right, you heard me, I’m jumping outta this country and I’m goin’ to Norway. Ok, Ok, I’m only going for 9 days, then I’m coming back to good ol’ Minnesota, but still, I’m goin’ to NORWAY, bay-bee!

Also, anyone that lives in/around/near Bergen, Stavanger, Oslo, and Kristiansand, you should come hear us perform (Brainerd Sr. High school A Capella choir) we’re performing Bach’s “Jesu meine Freude”, Bergen’s own Edvard Grieg’s “Spring”, and Palestrina’s “Sicut Cervus” …, plus more…

any advice for my trip (any of you that have been to Scandanavia this time of year, any general tips would be very helpful).

P.S. I’m leaving in less than a week (on the 20th)

What are you doing still here? Get out of here ya crazy kid! HAve fun and I want a picture of you and a fjord!

And didn’t title the thread “I’m pining for the fjords?” you missed a once in a lifetime oportunity.

neato. we expect a full report and pictures.

have fun.

Can I come?

Let’s try this a second time.

Bergen is usually rainy-- according to my cousin who lives there.

Oslo is very cool-- I was there last May.
if you get a chance, run off to FragenKollern (the Vigelund Statue park-- very cool), the Massive Ski jump (only if clear-- good view), and the Viking Museum (which is next to a couple other very neat museums).
Everything in Oslo is very close together-- geographical constraints.

The weather will be wild-- rain or snow, cold, or it might be sunny and 23 C! Bring everything.

Oh, and just about everyone you meet will speak English.

I think you’re mixing up two words, Barbarian - Frogner Park is where Vigeland’s statues are, and Holmenkollen is the ski jump. Both are definitely worth seeing.

Unfortunately, Ad Noctum, you’ll be coming to Norway between seasons - it’s not winter any more, but it isn’t really spring yet. Add to this the fact that many people take a vacation the week before Easter, so the cities will be emptier than usual. Still - at least that means less crowds. Just look out for reduced opening hours at stores, museums, etc.

Bring waterproof boots! Oslo is a soupy muddy mess right now, Bergen and Stavanger are not likely to be much better.

Where will you be performing in Oslo?

Pssst, Ad Noctum, you’re from Minnesota, right? Isn’t it kinda like cold there and has a long winter. Just a suggestion, but maybe you should be thinking someplace with sun like Maui.
