"That's Life" (CBS) -- Theme Song?

Does anyone know the name of the lively “Italian” (?) song that is played during the opening credits of “That’s Life”? Sounds like it might be an old folk song. Thanks!

So I called my mother from work and hummed it. People are staring at me but that’s okay.

She says it’s the Tarantelle Napolitana - although I am pretty sure there are a number of Tarantelle songs so that might not help you much.

Thanks, Bunny. I’ll work on that theory, and see if it checks out. Thanks, also, to your “research assistant”, and apologies to your coworkers.

Well, IMDB, I notice, lists Marco Marinangeli as the composer of the “main title” music, which I presume is what we’re talking about. But I know I’ve heard something similar before, so like you said, one Tarantelle probably sounds a lot like another, to the non-Tarantelle-afficionado. So we’ll keep digging. Anyone who knows anything more, please add on your comments. Thanks!

Hmmm, I know I’ve heard the song many times before too. Maybe IMDB means that this Marco person wrote that arrangement? I am really positive I’ve heard the song in lots of other places than That’s Life. Mum thinks she has it on one of her Italian tapes so if she finds it and I confirm that it really is the same tune (not just one that sounds similar), I’ll let you know what the tape lists for a name.

I would appreciate that!

Hey, you’re welcome.

By the way, last night I saw a commercial for either spaghetti or sauce - it showed a kid sucking up a really long strand of spaghetti - and the same That’s Life song was the background music, played really fast. The sauce - I mean plot - thickens. . . .
