Back in this thread, I told of my failed attempt to catch a woodchuck. Well, sometime yesterday, a naive woodchuck was unable to resist the smell of old carrots and broccoli and wandered into my trap. Here’s some pictures of the beastie. One down, two to go.
You killed it? Meanie.

You, sir, should be perfectly primed to answer the age old question.
How much wood?
He’s got to train it first.
That could take weeks.
Please tell me you released the little cutie somewhere far, far away.
Was the pelt worth anything? What did it taste like?
Off it and mount the head on a pike as a warning to others.
j/k, mostly.
If you are holding a poll, I vote that he be relocated.
I vote you don’t give your problem to somebody else. I know none of my neighbors or the local farmers want it.
“Relocate” as in folks who know what they are about and will release him in a state park where he won’t annoy gardeners or farmers in whatever way woodchucks annoy them.
Poor little guy. He’s got that “Any word from the governor?” look on his face.
Relocating a problem animal off your own property is illegal in Massachusetts, and I’m not one to break the law. Mr. Chuck met his demise shortly after the photos were taken. I thought about cleaning him for eating and making a hat as well, but there was already a nice plate of spaghetti waiting and a fur hat is kind of uncomfortable this time of year.
