The 0-16 NFL Season Thread, 2008 Edition

I had season tickets for over 20 years. I want my money back. I have driven Mercs and Fords and Lincolns. I want my money back. I spent a million dollars on overpriced beer.

Stealing our thunder. The Browns went 24 quarters without an offensive TD but all you’ll hear about is Detroit.

Did you want the beer back?

In other news: Bret Favre may retire. Or he may not. Stay tuned. :dubious:

I want something. How about a competitive team.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah sshit.

You have a competitive team. It plays in Ann Arb…

Oh, wait, my bad.

So, next year they have to start 0-10 to break the record, right?

Well, let’s set a record that’ll last forever. Let’s not win a game for three more years!

Woo!
…Crap.

Thats not funny.

They lost their last game in 2007, so they’re on a 17-game losing streak. They’ve lost 23 out of 24. The Bucs lost their first 26, and were 2-26 over their first two years. Considering they were an expansion team and the Lions aren’t, I think Detroit’s achievement is on par with Tampa’s.

I think it surpasses it already. Not being an expansion team and having had seven top 10 picks in the previous 10 drafts makes for an epic feat of futility.

The cities you were thinking of are East Lansing, Mt. Pleasant, and Kalamazoo

I am inclined to agree. It’s also worth noting that the Lions’ only win in that time comes against Kansas City, a team that’s been almost as bad as the Lions.

Probably I should’ve known about this weeks ago, but apparently Cleveland’s last offensive touchdown this season came in week 11, which indicates their offense or coaching could be just as bad as Detroit’s. But their coach and GM are almost certain to get fired.

Surprise!

Maybe the Lions can hire Marvin Lewis, the Browns can hire Marinelli and the Bengals can hire Herm Edwards and the Chiefs can hire Crennel. Everyone’s happy!

I admitted I was wrong about how bad the Lions are many weeks ago.

Detroit talk radio will be vicious the next few weeks. Our TV sports wrap ups will be fun.
Can they possibly keep the coach? If he is broomed,we start all over and by the time they rebuild ,the few good players will bail. They would have to bring in a HUGE name coach to get the process working. I am not sure any one exists.
Is Lombardi still dead?

You should have stuck with your original prediction. By next November you’ll be able to say you were right all along - 0-24 is nowhere close to 0-16.

They did it!
I thought for sure they would choke it all away with a win, perhaps even stage a two-score comeback in the final minutes.
But no, they really, really did it.
Congratulations.

Perhaps they can recruit from the JV team at Rochester Adams High School for next season.
