The 10th Kingdom

Anyone ever watch this TV mini-series?

I remember seeing it years ago and recently re-watched it with my girlfriend. She instantly fell in love with it. It has a unique charm to it and I was wondering if any other dopers found it as captivating as I did.

I also wonder, of course, if there is anything else out there like it!

Yeah, I have it on vhs and I’ve watched it probably 6 or 7 times and I even read the book. It’s so so cheesy. But the prince is pretty hot so it all works out. My favorite part is Camryn Manheim as Sleeping Beauty. This is no knock against her; she’s a lovely lady and a fine actress, but who in the world goes, “We need a Sleeping Beauty. Is Camryn Manheim available?”

Hah! I wholeheartedly agree with her being picked as sleeping beauty. Shes attractive and all…but legendarily attractive? Give me a break!

It is terribly cheesy but somehow that makes it better! It is all so much as to almost be believable.

I don’t have much in the way of a video collection but this is one title I do have.

“We will, we will, shear you!”

I enjoyed it. “Whiter Shade of Pale” was* meant *to be sung by hallucinogenic mushrooms.

Ok, reading too many Star Trek threads. My eyes floated across the thread title and read it as “The 10th Klingon”.

I have a fondness for the slightly cheesy fantasy-themed TV-movies and miniseries that Robert Halmi produced in the '90s and early '00s. This one, Merlin (with Sam Neill), and Arabian Nights were my favorites.

I love this mini series!

Snow White, I meant Snow White! I know my fairy tales, really!

This is one of my favorite things ever to be on tv. I think it’s on Netflix, or at least it was last year. I own the dvd somewhere.

The Brothers Gibb never fails to crack me up, nor “go suck an elf.” Wolf was my favorite character.

I especially loved Ann-Margret as Cinderella. The slipper supreme!

I’m 200 years old!

My entire family loves this movie. It’s been years, I really need to find a spare 7 hours to watch it again. I remember in high school showing it to friends, they’d always be all “You’re making me watch a seven hour movie?” and then we’d finish it and they’d ask to watch it again. Good memories. We still say “suck an elf” and “huff puff” in conversations.

This was my favorite part!
