The 15th Annual Steelers March to the Super Bowl Thread

You have a weird definition of self-inflicted. Clearly the Steelers have never lost a game…only beaten themselves.

Ben’s fumble was definitely self-inflicted. And a blocked field goal is exceedingly rare for a reason. Both were results of mistakes made by Pittsburgh players. The Bears were there to take advantage of them, whereas the Steelers didn’t pounce on a few errant Glennon passes and missed recovering a fumble that was there for the taking.

But whatever. the Bears absolutely dominated Pittsburgh in every phase of the game except those in which they didn’t. In the end, the only one that matters is the scoreboard.

Ben had more yards than Glennon. He also had more sacks, more fumbles, a lower completion percentage and was also worse on 3rd down. Glennon didn’t need to throw, Ben did. But you know, cherry pick away.

Self-inflicted.

If Pittsburgh played down to the Bears level, either they chose to do so or the Bears forced them to do so. Since Pittsburgh probably did not choose to do so, the Bears forced them to. So yeah, that is kind of a manhandle.

But more often than not the Steelers struggle against teams they are better than or at least should be and then a week later will beat a team they probably shouldn’t have.

Ratbird rivalry day is upon us. The only questions are who will be lost for the season and who will win by a field goal or less.

I love these games. I hate these games. Fuck the Ratbirds.

Man, the Rats look awful today. Really putrid.

I’m OK with this.

Home cooking gives Baltimore 3 free points. Seriously, that was an absolutely insane, absurd call.

I’m never going to ask you to stop doing these, but I kinda wish you’d stop incrementing the number. It makes me feel really old.

Of course, you could also make me feel old by telling me your son is looking at colleges, so I guess nevermind.

Not yet. He just started high school.

So, to be back on topic, the Steelers take on Jacksonville in Pittsburgh. I don’t see how this is anything but a win for the Steelers.

Eh, the Steelers might play down to Jacksonville’s level, for whatever reason. There is recent precedent.

Or, Jacksonville plays out of their minds like they did in London. There’s recent precedent.

The precedent, sir, is Ronald Reagan.

I do. The Chicago Bears.

Jacksonville is much better than they have been in a long time, but as long as they have Bortles under center they have to overcome that handicap. He’s just not that good. Still, leave it to Pittsburgh to find a way to make it interesting. It sure would be nice to see them start strong and run away with it.

I never count on a Steelers win until the clock reads 0:00 at the end of the 4th quarter, no matter what the lead is.

If you’re going to crawl out from under that rock of non-posting for twelve years, this is how it’s done. Well played.

Yes, of course, I haven’t posted in a long time, and the reasons for that are my own. Search my history if that’s your fetish, but don’t praise and criticize me simultaneously.

Of course I probably misinterpreted your post, overreacted, and consequently apologize for my response. But “crawling from under that rock” is pretty provocative, perhaps even you can admit that.

I can admit it, and I was only joking around with you. It’s all good. Go Jags!

I think we’re on the same page now.
