Sens are toast…
Of course they score as I type this…

Shorty for a 3 goal lead…stick a fork in Ottawa, they are done.
It seems I am posting too soon tonight…
We put Leclaire in. We’re done.
Did you see the hit on Fleury – AFTER they scored the goal? Jesus, you already scored – what’s the fucking point?
And you do NOT sucker punch Matt Cooke – not unless you want your ass handed to you in a paper bag.
Go Wings!
Hawks are struggling tonight against Nashville.
Unless you’re this guy.
Well, Dan Boyle made up for the Game 3 own-goal. More importantly (to me), Doug Murray made up for his repeated mistakes in Game 2 while covering on Colorado rushes. Not only did he make a strong offensive move leading to Pavelski’s game-winning, he was responsible in his own zone.
I think in general the Sharks have done a good job adjusting to the flow of these games. They’re expecting, and better prepared for, the Colorado counter-attack. I don’t think the guys respected it much in the first two games.
I haven’t noticed much bias this year, but the concept of the second season has been taken a bit far in these playoffs. There have been tons of scrums, late hits, clutchy grabby nonsense, and the like that would’ve been penalized in the regular season go by without so much as a whistle. On the other side, a player gets pushed into a goalie and gets a penalty, or a player drops a stick and the nearest player from the other team gets whistled. It’s just all around crap. I’m all for physicality and “letting the players play,” but consistency is far more important.
CBC missed the first 29 seconds of the OT for the Bruins and Sabres…
I am shocked.
The ghost of Don Cherry may finally be able to rest easy after that power play goal…
Once again the Habs get burned on a goal late in the period, as Hamrlik makes an ill-advised pinch in the dying seconds of the second, only to have Gordon and Knuble come back short handed on a 2-on-1 with Knuble scoring at 19:54 to tie the game, which of course they would go on to win 6-3. Two of those goals were into an empty net.
So now Montreal has to win three in a row, two of them on the road, against the President’s Trophy winners.
Bonne chance.
And the Habs actually finished about 20th in the league this year, so if they pull it off, it’ll be one of the greatest comebacks ever.
A bit of terrible refereeing in the Ottawa-Pittsburgh game tonight. The puck was sitting underneath Pascal Leclaire but was not covered. When he reached back to try to find the puck, he knocked it into his own net. Just as the puck was crossing the line, the ref tried to blow the whistle because he thought it was covered. He immediately waved it off under that wonderful “intent to blow” rule, and then he realized that he had just screwed up and cost Pittsburgh a goal. Does he make up for it by reversing the call? No, he goes to video review and begs them to find a reviewable reason for him to have waved it off(intent to blow is not reviewable). The war room comes back with “net did not come off of its moorings”, and then the ref was off the hook.
The right call was made, but it was arrived at in completely the wrong way. Poor refereeing there.
I hate Crosby, but that was a nice goal. Sens are in trouble.
Jesus. Ottawa’s season rests on next goal wins.
Devils lose again in the first round.
Oh man. Ottawa outshot Pittsburgh 11-6 in the overtime, must have outchanced them 6-1 but couldn’t find a goal without kicking it in. That was terrible luck on Foligno’s disallowed goal. He was just trying to kick it up to his stick, but it just flew off of his skate.
i think the kicking rule is stupid, if they want to help increase the goals/offence, let kicked goals in. off the butt, headed in, anything but using your hands directly, as in punching or throwing it in. They can save so much time not reviewing kicked goals, by allowing them to be good in the first place. I’m not a Senators or Canucks fan, it’s just some rules are stupid.
Sens live to fight another day.
Matt Fucking Carkner! Hell yes!
It’s a safety thing. Having players kicking at pucks with the goaltenders on the ice is a recipe for disaster.
